Feature |
Resolved Issue |
Autodesk® Backburner™ |
- Scenes created in 3ds Max 2009 / 3ds Max Design 2009 now render correctly when the scene is set to use the Include Maps option.
|
Biped |
- The MAXScript limit for trackSelection has been changed from 0–3 to 0–8 to match the changes to the lockCom parameter.
|
Hardware Meshes |
- The memory fragmentation issue that caused an error in the mesh render code has been resolved.
|
mental ray® |
- Complex mental ray materials no longer cause an error in the Material Editor. The memory limit now matches the limit of the memory setting in the mental ray renderer.
|
Microsoft® DirectX® Shader Material |
- The DirectX Shader material now loads the correct lighting. The light index is no longer reset on load.
|
Performance: Assigning Materials to Objects |
- Assigning materials to large numbers of objects no longer leads to performance issues with Standard and Multi/Sub-Object materials.
|
Save As Previous |
- When saving a file in 3ds Max 2011 / 3ds Max Design 2011 using Save As Previous, the Asset type parameters now load properly in 3ds Max 2010 / 3ds Max Design 2010 when using RGB as the render output type.
- When using Save As Previous in 3ds Max 2011 / 3ds Max Design 2011 to save a Container with the "No Access" rule, and a proxy file assigned to it, you will be able to inherit the Container in 3ds Max 2010 without errors.
|
Scripted Custom Attributes |
- (64-bit operating systems only) When a paramblock was defined by a scripted plug-in or custom attribute, a 64-bit pointer was put into an intermediate 32-bit integer and then into a INT_PTR variable. Incorrect values were stored in the INT_PTR variable when the 64-bit pointer was greater than 2 GB. This issue has been resolved.
|
Scene Explorer |
- You can now use Zenkaku numeric characters in Scene Explorer for object and material names.
|
User Interface |
- Ribbon: You can now close the Symmetry Tools dialog (opened with the modeling ribbon > Graphite Modeling Tools tab > Polygon Modeling panel > Symmetry Tools command) when the Pick Main Model button is enabled without issue.
- Grid and Snap Settings dialog: The issues that arose with the Grid and Snap Settings dialog after installing 3ds Max 2010 (Connection Extension) have been resolved.
