This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this update. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply this update to your product. For reference, you should save this document to your hard drive or print a copy.

Who Should Install This Service Pack?

Service Pack 2 is for Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2012, in all languages, running on all supported operating systems. Service Pack 2 can be applied to the following versions of product. Be sure to install the correct update for your software.

Information for Windows Vista and Windows 7 Users

If you apply the Autodesk Infrastructure Studio update while running Autodesk Infrastructure Studio, it is recommended that you do not click the "Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete" option. Instead, close Autodesk Infrastructure Studio manually, and press “Ignore” at the prompt. It is also recommended that you reboot your system after installing the update.

Primary Issues Resolved by This Service Pack

API

·         Fix the memory leak problem in ResourceService.SetResource()

·         Fix the MapGuide .Net wrapper exception serialization issue.

COGO

·         Orthogonal calculation now allows user to skip the baseline-promting via ENTER to select points separately.

Dimension

·         There is no longer an error dialog when using Advanced Combo box in App Extention.

Display Model

·         Display Models are now available in layouts for Enterprise Industry Models when the browser locale is set to German.

Feature Search

·         Searching for any position and highlight multiple times is now able to return the correct result.

Flexible web layout

·         The features selected by 'SelectWithin' stay selected after user continues to select other features by pressing <Shift>+select.

FDO Oracle

·         Oracle Datastore is now able to be used when created with partitioned spatial index.

Jobs

·         Job is now able to be created successfully with Raster layer.

Performance

·         MGServer daemon is more stable when running java script.

Quick Plot

·         Preview layout of portrait map now fits better for the A4 size.

WMS

·         AIMS can stay alive even if the foreign WMS is not available anymore.

General Installation Information

As you prepare to install Service Pack 2, keep the following in mind:

Backup Repositories

Administrators should back up the current installations and repositories as per best practice.

Backup Configuration Files

Administrators should back up several configuration files, see more details below.

Windows

Stop Services

Administrators should close all applications especially any Map Server related services e.g. Infrastructure Map Server Service and IIS/Apache/Tomcat before applying the update.

Administrative Privileges

In order to apply the update, you must have administrative privileges to install and uninstall products.

Reboot

After installation, it is recommended to reboot your system even if not prompted.

Installation Instructions

From the Product Support website, download the appropriate update files for your operating system. Copy the update files into a temporary folder on your computer and run the files as described below.

Note: The Windows update is simply an update to a subset of files. The Linux update is a full install.

Installing the Server/Web/Application Extension Update on Windows

1.  Download the following update files and save to any folder:

  • InfrMapServer2012Update2.exe or InfrMapServer2012Update2.x64.exe
  • WebServer2012Update2.exe or WebServer2012Update2.x64.exe
  • AppExt2012Update2.exe or AppExt2012Update2.x64.exe

2.  Stop the Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2012 Service and the Web Server services. 

3.  Run the update files that you downloaded in step 1.

4.  Replace any overwritten configuration files listed in previous section.

5.  Restart your services and connect to the Infrastructure Map Server Site Administrator to confirm things are working.

Installing the Server/Web/FDO Update on Linux

1.  Download the update files and save them to any folder like /tmp:

  • infrastructuremapserver2012-server-2.3.0.5801-1.i386-rpm.bin
  • infrastructuremapserver2012-webextension-2.3.0.5801-1.i386-rpm.bin
  • fdo-3.6.0.11003-1.tar.gz

Note: Make sure that you download and install the correct Server and Web Extension update files for your language, e.g. German, Japanese, French, etc. For example, if you are using the German version of Infrastructure Map Server, you should download the files infrastructuremapserver2012deu-server-2.3.0.5801-1.i386.rpm and infrastructuremapserver2012deu-webextension-2.3.0.5801-1.i386. The FDO update file is not language-specific.

2.  Stop the Infrastructure Map Server 2012 Service, the Apache Server and the Tomcat Server if applicable.

3.  Backup the Repositories folder from the /opt/Autodesk/Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2012/ folder to another directory outside the Autodesk subdirectories such as /tmp. The new install should not overwrite the current repository, but the backup is just a precaution.

4.  Confirm the version of Infrastructure Map Server installed by executing:

rpm -qa | grep mapserver

5.  Uninstall the Infrastructure Web Server Extension by executing:

rpm -e infrastructuremapserver2012-webextension-2.3.0.5801-1

6.  Uninstall the Infrastructure Map Server by executing:

rpm -e infrastructuremapserver2012-server-2.3.0.5801-1

7.  Navigate to /usr/local/fdo-3.6.0 and uninstall FDO by executing:

./uninstall

8.  Navigate to the folder where the new install files were copied to.

9.  Extract the FDO files by executing:

tar -xzvf fdo-3.6.0.11003-1.tar.gz

10. cd to the fdo-3.6.0.11003-1 folder and execute:

./install

11. To extract the Server and Web Extension files execute the following:

./infrastructuremapserver2012-server-2.3.0.5801-1.i386-rpm.bin
./infrastructuremapserver2012-webextension-2.3.0.5801-1.i386-rpm.bin
Enter ‘Yes’ when prompted to accept the license agreements.

12. To install the Server execute the following:

rpm -ivh infrastructuremapserver2012-server-2.3.0.5801-1.i386.rpm

13. To install the Web Extensions execute the following:

rpm -ivh infrastructuremapserver2012-webextension-2.3.0.5801-1.i386.rpm

14. Replace any overwritten configuration files as outlined in previous section.

15. Restart the services and connect to the Infrastructure Map Server Site Administrator to confirm things are working.

Installing the Studio Update on Windows

1.  Download the update file and save it to any folder.

  • Studio2012Update2.exe

2.  Exit Autodesk Infrastructure Studio 2012. 

3.  Run the update file you downloaded in Step 1.

4.  Restart Autodesk Infrastructure Studio 2012.

Installing the Administrator 2012 Update on Windows

1.  Download the update file and save it to any folder.

  • InfrastructureAdmin2012_Win32_SP2.exe or InfrastructureAdmin2012_x64_SP2.exe

2.  Exit Autodesk Infrastructure Administrator 2012. 

3.  Run the update file you downloaded in Step 1.

4.  Restart Autodesk Infrastructure Administrator 2012.

Uninstalling the Service Pack

The Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2012 Service Pack 2 cannot be uninstalled. In order to return to the original state of the application you must uninstall Autodesk Infrastructure Map Server 2012 and reinstall it.
