This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this update. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply the update to your licensed copy of Autodesk® Revit® MEP 2013, either as a standalone product or as part of a product suite. Such as: AutoCAD® Revit® MEP Suite 2013 software. For reference, you should save this readme to your hard drive or print a copy.

As you prepare to install this update, keep the following in mind:
Administrative Privileges
During installation, you may be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this update, you must have administrative privileges to install and uninstall products.
Product media
Under some circumstances, you may be asked to provide the original installation source. If you installed Autodesk Revit MEP 2013 from the DVD, you will be asked to insert the disk during installation of the update. Please have the disk available before starting.
If you downloaded and installed Autodesk Revit MEP 2013 from the web and later deleted the extracted files (Installed by default to Program Files\Autodesk Revit MEP 2013\Download), the update will not be able to continue. In that case, you should follow the below procedure:
- Obtain the Web download file and save it to your computer.
- Double click the download file and allow it to extract its files, noting where they are being saved.
- When the Autodesk Revit Installer screen appears, click "Cancel".
- Continue with update installation as described in the Installation Instructions.
Backup Custom Files
Back up all customized files such as Revit.ini before starting.
Network Deployment
Special command line switches are available for administrators. The full list can be obtained by running the update with the /? Switch.
/q - Suppresses the completion message after this update is applied. This is useful if you use a script or batch file to apply this update to multiple computers.
/e - Extracts the MSP file from the update executable.
Follow these instructions to install this update on a single computer.
Note: Appling the Update Release to a deployment image created within Windows XP through the append or merge option will result in an error after downloading the Update Release. The Update Release will not be applied upon dismissing the error message.
Note: This update cannot be uninstalled to revert Autodesk Revit MEP 2013 to its pre-update state. If you need to remove the update, please uninstall Autodesk Revit MEP 2013 and then reinstall it.
This update may be applied through the Live Update system. The Autodesk Revit installer allows you to download and include the update with an install of the original version of Autodesk Revit MEP 2013. Also, InfoCenter, within Autodesk Revit MEP 2013, allows you to apply the update.
Note: If Autodesk Revit MEP 2013 is not closed during the install of Update Release 1 it is required that you restart your PC to ensure that the update has been installed properly.
