In our continuing efforts to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released hotfix DL20167485, which addresses an issue with flow rate prediction when using valve gates in analyses of Midplane and Dual Domain models.
This document contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this update. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply the update to your product. For reference, you should save this document to your hard drive or print a copy.

In the Midplane/Dual Domain flow solver, predicted flow rate is incorrect when a valve gate is opened after the maximum machine pressure is reached.
A change was implemented in the 2013 release to maintain pressure control once the maximum machine pressure was reached, even if the pressure decreased after a valve gate was opened. This change caused an increase in the predicted flow rate. This hotfix allows the simulation to revert to velocity control when the pressure decreases below the specified maximum machine pressure value.
This hotfix should only be applied to systems directly affected by the issue described above, as this was the only issue this hotfix was created to address.
For application of this hotfix, your system must have the following product installed:
This hotfix is available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions (downloaded together as one bundle) and is only applicable to Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight - Solvers 2013. Once installed, it will appear as an update under Add/Remove Programs and can be uninstalled from there.
We thank all our customers who identified this issue and reported it to us. These reports give us the opportunity to improve the product and provide you with the best solution in mechanical design. We also thank you for your continued business and for feedback regarding the content of this update release.
Respectfully,
Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight Product Team
