In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk Factory Design Suite
2013 Service Pack 1 addresses a variety of issues. This document describes the addressed issues, as well as additional known issues.
The service packs include Autodesk Factory Design Utilities for Inventor 2013 SP1, Autodesk Factory Design Utilities for AutoCAD 2013 SP1
and Autodesk Inventor 2013 Update 1. They apply to every edition of Autodesk Factory Design Suite 2013; Standard, Premium and Ultimate. The service packs can be applied to any language version of Autodesk Factory Design Suite 2013.
We are recommending you that don't uncheck Autodesk Inventor 2013 Update 1 from installer page.
You must have at least one of the following applications installed on your machine:
- Autodesk Inventor 2013 with Factory Design Utilities
- AutoCAD Mechanical 2013 or AutoCAD Architecture 2013 with Factory Design Utilities
- Factory Design Suite 2013 Launchpad

Abbreviations used:
- CER refers to a Customer Error Report
- NG refers to an item reported on the Autodesk Newsgroups

- NG: Temporarily delete some shortcuts which violate Inventor single shortcuts in Inventor Factory.
They are: DF, MP, MA and SF in the Sketch/Drawing environment; CSL, CD, NLFD, NL and PF in the Assembly environment.
- CER: Occasionally, crashes are encountered with Sign-In
Autodesk 360 in Inventor when license upgraded.
- CER: Sometimes, opening Fusion files in Inventor 2013 will cause it to become unstable.
- CER: Unexpected exit of Inventor when you are
importing DWG solids in the Create Assets environment with the DWG that is generated by Sync to AutoCAD.
- DWG that is generated by Sync AutoCAD may not match the 3D layout that contains Assets inserted with non-default insertion point.
- The size of assets that have decimal values in asset chains are multiplied in the German Language Pack or Localized build, can
cause some problems such as: the size of populated assets could be incorrect;
some assets are not populated at all; some asset chains created using existing polylines are not populated.
- If you run Factory Design Suite in certain non-US locales, commas are not recognized as decimal points.
- CER: An unexpected exit occurs when importing a solid DWG that was generated by Sync AutoCAD.
- After deleting the landing surface in the Asset Builder environment, the green plane still exists.
- When you Sync Inventor with a DWG containing an undownloaded Cloud Asset Chain, the Cloud Asset Chain will not be downloaded automatically.
- Searching a just-published Asset will require an explicit refresh of the Asset Browser to be displayed.
- Downloaded Cloud Assets are not translated when you switch languages for applications with installed Language Packs.
- Inventor may crash when you drag two undownloaded Assets to layout continuously and two dialogs are displayed at the same time.
- Inventor can occasionally become unstable when you replace an asset in the layout and Sync AutoCAD.
- A warning dialog will pop up to prompt updating Factory Layout template StandardFactoryLayout.iam. To eliminate the warning dialog, you need to update your local template file StandardFactoryLayout.iam with one of the tempale files we published on Factory Design Suite 2013 Service Pack1 downloading web site. Rename the template file you downloaded into "StandardFactoryLayout.iam" and overwrite old one. You can also follow up below steps to update the template manually.
- 1. Open StandardFactoryLayout.iam from Inventor 2013 Templates folder.
- 2. Open Update Styles window via clicking "Update" command of Styles and Standards panel in Manage tab of Ribbon.
- 3. Select "Inventor Material Library" in dropdown list "Compare materials against".
- 4. Click "Yes to All" and then click OK.
- 5. Save and close the template file.

- CER: Unexpected exit of AutoCAD Architecture 2013 and AutoCAD Mechanical 2013.
- CER: AutoCAD Mechanical 2013 may become unstable if you switch to Classic workspace, after exit, and then launch it again.
- CER: Launching AutoCAD 2013 English from AutoCAD Mechanical 2013 English under Program Files will crash if the standalone Language Pack for Factory Design Utilities is installed.
- Variants with the parameter types of String and Boolean are not shown in the tooltip of a Asset Variant that has been placed in a layout.
- If Microsoft Outlook is not set up, clicking Send Feedback in AutoCAD Mechanical 2013 or AutoCAD Architecture 2013 may
cause the application to become unstable.
- In some localized AutoCAD Mechanical 2013 or AutoCAD
Architecture 2013 versions, you may not specify the basepoint by context menu or options on the command line when you place a 2D Asset in the layout.
- CER: Unexpected exit happens when you importing a solid DWG which is generated by Sync AutoCAD.
- The Reposition Floor command to elevate the floor in Autodesk Inventor 2013 may cause the assets to be positioned above the floor after Sync AutoCAD.

- In the "Installation Drawing" workflow, the .dwg type is missing for the 3D layout from Inventor.
- In localized build, the Workflow Options dialog is not translated.
