In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk Factory Design Suite
2013 Service Pack 2 addresses a variety of issues. This document describes the addressed issues.
The service packs include Autodesk Factory Design Utilities for Inventor 2013 SP2, Autodesk Factory Design Utilities for AutoCAD 2013 SP2
and Autodesk Inventor 2013 Update 1 and Autodesk Sync 2013 SP1. They apply to every edition of Autodesk Factory Design Suite 2013; Standard, Premium and Ultimate. The service packs can be applied to any language version of Autodesk Factory Design Suite 2013.
We recommend that you don't uncheck Autodesk Inventor 2013 Update 1 from installer page.
You must have at least one of the following applications installed on your machine:
- Autodesk Inventor 2013 with Factory Design Utilities
- AutoCAD Mechanical 2013 or AutoCAD Architecture 2013 with Factory Design Utilities
- Factory Design Suite 2013 LaunchPad
The SP2 includes every released hotfix, including fixes made within Factory Design Suite 2013 Service Pack 1. Therefore, no hotfix/SP1 installation prerequisites are required.
You may install released Service Packs or Updates or hotfixes for
corresponding products such as Autodesk Inventor 2013, AutoCAD Mechanical 2013, AutoCAD Architecture 2013, Autodesk Showcase 2013, Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2013.

- A warning dialog may pop up to prompt updating Factory Layout template StandardFactoryLayout.iam. To eliminate the warning dialog,
you need to update your local StandardFactoryLayout.iam template file with one of the template files we published on the Factory Design Suite 2013 Service Pack
2 downloading web site. Rename the template file you downloaded into "StandardFactoryLayout.iam" and overwrite old one. You can also follow the steps below to update the template manually.
Note: If you had previously performed this when installing Factory Design Suite 2013 Service Pack 1, you should not encounter the problem again.
- 1. Open StandardFactoryLayout.iam from Inventor 2013 Templates folder.
- 2. Open Update Styles window by clicking "Update" command of Styles and Standards panel in Manage tab of Ribbon.
- 3. Select "Inventor Material Library" in dropdown list "Compare materials against".
- 4. Click "Yes to All" and then click OK.
- 5. Save and close the template file.
- NG: The Asset will be moved down to floor when doing Sync
AutoCAD. Such as the position of robot which is on the Robot 7th Axis by connector, is changed to the floor after Sync AutoCAD
operation.
- When synchronizing between
AutoCAD Architecture/AutoCAD Mechanical and Inventor, some layers with special characters in name are turned off.
- Asset moves to Layer 0, after the corresponding 3D asset's parameters change and Sync AutoCAD.
- Before any Factory operation such as Add DWG
Overlay, Sync AutoCAD etc., the DWG that has been created in Inventor with Shaded
style selected, opens in AutoCAD will become wireframe style.
- Assets published with only sketch will not get corresponding DWG file after Sync AutoCAD operation.
- Commands in Asset Builder will be disabled after the Undo operation against Exit Asset Builder.
- At the situation that user has incompletely downloaded
Cloud Assets and internet disconnected, launch Inventor will encounter Crash.
- CER: Inventor may encounter unexpected exit if two
dialogs displayed at the same time, which is notifying asset Missing.
- CER: Inventor may become unstable when creating a new layout with a customized template.
- CER: German version of Inventor may become unstable when encounter failures during Sync AutoCAD.
- CER: Occasionally crash is encountered when performing New Layout.
- CER: Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical or AutoCAD Architecture occasionally encounter unexpected exit when initialize Asset Browser.
- CER: Inventor may be unstable when Sync AutoCAD especially after user undo one operation on previous Sync AutoCAD.

- Asset Chain is not on correct elevation after set a value for its elevation in AutoCAD Mechanical or AutoCAD Architecture.
- Attributes are not immediately recognized when user places an asset from the asset library. How does a user add attributes for an Asset?
User can edit the DWG block instance within the asset library - opening the DWG file directly and adding asset information to it.
- Subscription-only accessed Cloud Assets can't be displayed for Subscription License users.
