A separate patch will be released later for the AIP10 product. (1) Download the Autodesk Inventor 10 Service Pack 1 patch file "Inventor10_ais_SP1.exe" **You must have Administrator privileges on your local machine to install Autodesk Inventor 10 Service Pack 1** (2) Double-click on the downloaded file. This is an exe patch file. You will also have a progress meter on your screen while the setup program is updating the files on your system. **To extract an msp version of the patch from the exe type the following at the command prompt: Inventor10_ais_SP1.exe /e c:\temp\Inventor10_ais_SP1.msp. This will place the msp version of the patch in your c:\temp folder. (3) To verify the Autodesk Inventor 10 Service Pack 1 was installed successfully, an Information dialog box is displayed with this message: "The service pack was successfully installed and Autodesk Inventor 10 has been updated." (4) If requested, please reboot your system after the service pack is installed. *For final verification, from within Autodesk Inventor, select "About Autodesk Inventor" from the Help menu. If Autodesk Inventor 10 Service Pack 1 has been successfully installed, the About box displays: "Build: 243, Release: 10 SP1 – Date: Mon 06/06/2005." ================================================================================ Corrections to Help Topics: =========================== - For the Inventor on-line tutorial, Insert Linked Objects, page 2, use the link text to open the sample file, not the icon. When prompted to overwrite existing chm click ‘Yes’. ================================================================================ Summary of issues addressed in Autodesk Inventor 10 Service Pack 1 include: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: CER stands for Crash Error Report API- ===== Fixed the following issues: - Creating a new document using an already opened document as a tempalte will cause Inventor to crash. - Invalid value returned for fullfilename property for a new document. - Adding certain sketched symbol to highlight set will cause Inventor to crash. - Selecting multiple browser nodes (I.e. Using shift key) after deleting a browser node will cause Inventor to crash. - Unable to access the custom parameters of a custom iPart. - Getting entityone from a customconstraint in the onactivatedocument event will cause Inventor to crash after unhandled exception message alert. - Unable to modify the text property of holetablecell object. ASSEMBLY MODELING- ================== Fixed the following issues: - Issue with the arrow on weld symbol not resizing correctly when zooming in. - Issue with components in a pattern not moving correctly when dragging flexible subassemblies. - Issue with duplicate weldment nodes in the derived assembly dialog. - Incorrect result when creating a component pattern using a chamfer edge as direction. - Incorrect bead end face when creating fillet welds on hollow tubes not perpendicular to each other. - Incorrect groove weld preview when fill direction is along a workaxis or workplane. - CER: crash when dragging a sub-assembly within an assembly. - Crash applying design view that uses a custom component color. - Crash when editing assembly representations that is using custom colors. - Crash updating a derived part of an assembly when a subtracted component in the derived assembly is deleted. - CER: crash in some cases creating assembly feature. - CER: crash in some cases when placing a constraint. - Crash deleting a projected driven dimension. - Crash when adding a subtracted component to a derived part. - Undoing creation of a new positional representation crashes Inventor. - Crash demoting a part containing a cross part loop projection. - Crash when mirroring assemblies in some cases. - User-defined textures lost while inserting iParts into assembly. - CER: creating a new component in Autodesk Inventor 10 fails when the new file's template is an R9 weldment. - Default part names are not automatically incremented when created in-place in an assembly. - CER: crash when browser entries are deleted, added and deleted again. - Adding assembly constraints in the top level document makes all parts dirty. - Crash when mirroring subassembly containing assembly feature patterns. - Crash on select other during imate placement. - Inventor crashes when loading an assembly that contains an unresolved patterned component associated to a feature pattern that has been modified. - CER: crash when adding additional constraints to an assembly which has an existing constraint to a workaxis. - Crash constraining an adaptive part when another component has a cross part failure. - CER: crash when clicking on "bill of material" from the browser. - Crash when deleting a part that defines the pattern direction, from an assembly. CONTENT CENTER/DESIGN ACCELERATOR- ================================== Fixed the following issues: - Inability to publish a tube and pipe part with a filename column. - Stocknumber column in ipart not being mapped to design tracking properties after publish. - Poor performance while copying families to a library as well as during publish. - Material dropdown not appearing in the select tab after adding a row with a different material. - Inability to paste extra rows from excel into family table. - Library categories not being displayed with turkish windows regional settings. - Unable to create shaft when a shaft element is copied and pasted in the dialog. DRAWING MANAGER- ================ Fixed the following issues: - Unable to select position of a new field in a revision table immediately upon creating it. - Row separator in revision tables disappears upon removing the table heading. - Revision table adds extra columns after editing. - Get work feature- work axis is too small. - Text is not properly justified in a surface texture symbol in din standards. - Crash in some cases when deleting drawing sheets. - Sketch disappears from part browser after using it in a breakout view. - Print preview of shaded view rep with defer updates on appears as wireframe. - Inconsistent positioning of centre marks on a component. - Dragging radial or diameter dimensions in a drawing sketch on a broken view displayed erratic behavior. - Styles perfomance when updating drawings containing text elements is too slow. - Weld end fill does not update it's position after changing assembly. - Incorrect angular dimension when they are created by rolling back part features, rolling the end of part forward and updating the drawing. - Print preview as well as printing drawings after migration is incorrect. - Creating a broken view on a base view caused the breakout to disappear from the detail view. - Printing a drawing in a deferred state does not capture shaded views on output. - Automatic snap of parts list away from the insertion cursor is not possible. - Angular dimensions when placed by selecting a centermark and the bolt circle centers of patterned radial holes get created in a sick state. - The size of work features recovered in a drawing are not the same as in the part or assembly. - Overlay and reference edges do not highlight when the visible layer is turned off. - Part added to a sub-assembly made invisible in a locked design view shows in the corresponding associative drawing view. - CER: print cmd crashes soon after encountering the message "no more heap list entries". - When a parts list property column is removed and added again, its width does not match the setting in the parts list style. - CER: crash when a datum id or feature control frame command is dismissed and initiated again. - CER: crash with sick weld end treatment diagnosis. - CER: crash when moving datum target vertex. - CER: crash when working with surface texture dialog. - CER: crash in some cases when placing views (possibly custom views or perspective views). - Blind holes are displayed as through holes when they intersect other holes. - Crash when deleting a parent view of certain other views such as breakout views. - Cursor changes to working hour glass when a value is typed in an empty partslist cell and the ok button is clicked immediately. - The "delete" option is always grayed out for custom hole table properties in the column chooser. - Incorrect hidden line display for coil feature in drawing views. - Unable to create a circular centerline for a circular pattern of hole features in a drawing view of a flattened sheetmetal part. - Inventor hangs after deleting a layer style and editing another layer style. - A sketched based balloon does not display correctly when attached to view geometry. - Issue with an empty view being created for section views going through holes in some cases. - Crash when undoing the drag of a balloon arrowhead. - After migration, parts list with invisible rows that had the setting "wrap table at row" became 2 tables. - Balloons disappear when opening drawings of presentation views that are not resolved to the presentation file. - If the view is broken such that a pattern is split by the break, automatic centerline fails to create the correct patterned centerline. - Preview for section view on an assembly was not available when the assembly contained a part with a 3d sketch only. - Sketch text color changes when moved within the sketch. - Vertical lines of a parts list disappears when the last row after a manually wrapped row isn't visible. - Weld symbols are recovered every time on assembly views that contain weldment sub-assemblies. - Issue with the "get work feature" option not disabled from the browser right click on views of sheet metal flat pattern. - Certain drawing files from Inventor 8 that had line styles created did not work correctly upon migration. - Unable to add assembly level holes to a hole table. - Issue with no gap between a centermark created by automated centerlines and a dimension extension line attached to it. - Crash when creating a parts list in the Autodesk Inventor Professional version without the Professional modules being installed. - Issue with feature priority selection not highlighting features correctly. - Incorrect hole tags are created after changing a hole type to match exsiting counterbore and countersunk holes. - CER: crash when a baseline dimension is created on a circular edge. - Issue with erratic behavior of parts list when the view for the parts list is selected twice. - Line between description heading and actual values disappears when notes are combined. - CER: crash modifying hole table which includes ifeature holes. - CER: crash when updating a dimension style with alternative unit displayed. - Case 1083802: issue with balloons from releases prior to r9 that had no properties defined in the standard disappeared after migration. - Crash when saving a document that has a deleted component still highlighted in another open document. - Crash when creating a feature-based hole table by selecting all the holes in the view using a window. - CER: crash when recovering weld symbols in certain cases. - Crash editing weld symbol via left mouse click when its anchor point overlaps another annotation's anchor point. - Importing a style with the same name does not overwrite existing style. - Crash placing a hole table on an assembly view of sheet metal parts. - Crash when adding a symbol to a sheet (that contains a hole table and a parts list) after editing the part list. - Crash when a balloon style is overridden during autoballoon creation for weld subassembly. - Centermarks are placed incorrectly on associative sketches of broken views. - CER: crash when trying to open certain drawings that contain ole objects. - The text format dialog does not keep style setting. - Print range values (from - to) get reset after a print preview is invoked. - Crash when editing a radial model dimension. - Crash adding override to a balloon attached to a phantom part. - Extra characters added when using slope symbol and model parameters or text properties in text editor in a drawing file. - Issue with being able to define a text parameter without a type when creating user defined symbols. - The color of text in user defined symbols does not update when the color is changed in the text style. - CER: crash when opening drawings that contain views of presentations where the presentation has been modified to point to a different assembly. - Issue with extra dashed lines appearing in projected views. - Issue with incorrect parts list renumbering when some items are made invisible. - Issue with rows in a hole table getting set to double spacing despite its corresponding style setting of single spacing. - CER: crash when deleting overlay views of positional representations from a drawing. - CER: crash when copying a view and pasting it into a new drawing. - Crash adding a couple of holes to a hole table, undoing twice and adding another hole. - Unable to attach surface texture symbol to one side of dimension. - CER: crash when adding a surface texture symbol in a drawing in certain cases. - CER: crash when adding leader text in a drawing in certain cases. - Hatch disappears for sectional view with reference part. - CER: crash when inserting sketched symbols. - Unable to attach GDT symbols to retrieved model dimension. - CER: crash when creating a hole note /thread note for a tapped hole. - CER: crash when creating a view of a presentaion that contains a nested virtual part. - CER: crash when placing a center mark. DWG/DXF/DWF- ====================== Fixed the following issues: - Parts list tables did not translate when importing DWG files. - Issue with sketch plane projections being handled incorrectly causing certain sketch features to fail in mdt translation. - CER: crash importing DWG to a drawing with dimensions promoted to sketch when there are dimensions to midpoints of a line. - CER: crash importing a DWG into a part template that already contains solid data. - Fonts are incorrect in AutoCAD when exported to DWG. - Alternate dimensions are missing when DWG files are imported into draft views. - Properties in sketched symbols do not export to DWG. - Revision tables are omitted in some cases when an Inventor drawing is exported to DWG. - Crash in some cases when translating mdt files that contain external files. - Crash in some cases when importing DWG files with inch units. - Unable to open DWG file via internet explorer after installing Autodesk Inventor. - Unable to open published 3d dwf with weld symbol text. GENERAL- ======== Fixed the following issues: - Crash when there are two project files that have included paths to each other. - Unable to replace steel parts using design assistant. - Crash undoing a refresh in the ifeature/punch dialog. - Crash creating a new document after changing template path in migrated project file. - CER: crash when the parent window of a modal dialog becomes available for selection and is closed before the modal dialog is closed. - Issue with the "product information" dialog under about Autodesk Inventor being non-modal. - Crash when reopening a Tube & Pipe assembly after undoing its first open in the AIS version of Autodesk Inventor. - Issue with unnecessary file dirtying due to moving and resolving a ref from a relative path to the root project location. - Replacing a component with a "save copy as" of existing component causes the BOM roll-up to work incorrectly. IGES/STEP/SAT- ============== Fixed the following issues: - Step import creates components with empty mass and volume properties in certain cases. - Coil shows distortion on step import. - Issue with large bounding box and incorrect mass properties in certain cases of step import. - In some cases where tiny spline elements are involved performance was poor for step import. - Cylinders are being broken into 2 faces on step export. - Inventor hangs on step import after roundtripping in some cases. - Crash on edit region of torus surface. - Unable to promote solids in certain iges files. - CER: crash when opening certain iges files. - Crash when more than 2 surfaces are pre-selected. - Crash when changing selection type from toolbar while in reverse normal command. - Distorted face after iges import due to duplicate seam edges. - Access violation error when stitching faces on certain imported iges files. - File hangs during autostitch and promote. - CER: crash when unstitching surfaces that were already preselected and selected again. - Bad geometry and empty body after roundtripping. - Surface distortion on roundtrip of certain files exported as iges. - Vertex blend of varying radii results in empty import after roundtrip of certain iges files. - Face missing on import after roundtripping certain iges files. - Crash when exporting to iges or step in some cases. - CER: crash when opening sat files in some cases. - CER: crash when trying to open pro/e acis file in some cases. PART MODELING- ============== Fixed the following issues: - Crash on adding coincident constraint between bowtie and fit point on a 2d spline. - Outside profile of sheet metal flat incomplete in dxf. - Grip edit does not retain parametric equation. - Loft in some cases fails with an access violation when the end conditions have a 90 degree angle. - Sketch plane cannot be placed on face after multiple sheet metal folds. - CER: crash when trying to create flat pattern in some cases. - Sketch solve failures in some cases on part update. - Unable to open certain Korean standard parts. - iPart not updating correctly when it contains threaded countersunk holes. - Crash when creating iParts from parts that have parameters imported from Excel. - Crash with runtime error when creating iPart after deleting rows completely. - Crash selecting drag and drop commands dropped into the panel bar from Tools, Customize command. - Project cut edges command generates sick sketch points. - Crash selecting refresh on the paste dialog when copying/pasting feature. - Crash when editing published and inserted derived assembly part in the context of an assembly. - Workpoint in 3d sketch cannot be selected in browser to place a line. - Crash invoking grip edit on sweep with a path made from an iges body. - CER: crash when moving End of Part marker to the bottom in some cases. - Unable to cut across bend using customized bend table. - Crash trying to 'cruise move' a patterned component in an assembly. - CER: crash when opening certain assemblies that have OLE sketches in them. - Crash on deleting 3d sketch in base component when the sketch is consumed in derived part. - Crash when creating implied coincident constraint via drag. - In some cases after a sheet metal flat pattern error occurs, creating a new part fails. - Flat pattern of deleted face is allowed and sheet metal part icon changes to notepad icon. - Crash on promoting groove weld part in assembly context. - Crash invoking 3d grips after the 'non parametric work plane' dialog is cancelled. - Crash when a consumed hole center sketch point is deleted and the part updated. - Crash when adding properties into the iFeature author table by double clicking. - Crash when deleting sketch curve causing an associated used vertex to also be deleted. - Crash when dragging the edge of a circle using 3D grips handle. - Crash when unsuppressing a suppressed feature in some cases. - Crash while adding values in the other tab of the iFeature author dialog box. - Crash when [coil size] > pitch > measure is clicked before any other input is done. - Cyclical constraint error while projecting a face. - Invalid segment error on rebuild all of derived assembly when resolve link to the base assembly is skipped. - Crash when opening a sheet metal part that contains an OLE object. - Crash when creating iPart when digit grouping is set to space under regional settings. - In some cases, updating loft features produces a "Deep copy not supported" error. - Center of gravity does not honor positional representations. - Unable to use precise input delta tool as it was disabled. - In some cases the thread texture was not mirrored when mirroring threaded features. - Crash when editing a stitched surface and removing or reselecting surfaces. - CER: in some cases, changing a color style of in-place activated part caused a crash. - Unable to place older iFeature files on Autodesk Inventor 10 parts. - Crash when opening R9 files with orphaned work points in R10. INVENTOR STUDIO- ================ Fixed the following issues: - Crash when more than nine lights are created. - Crash if render animation uses "intel lyuv codec" in video compression. - Crash selecting render with a drawing or presentation document active. - Crash switching to studio when there's no active lighting-style in current document. - Crash after deleting a browser node and trying to select other browser nodes by holding shift key. - Crash when invoking lighting styles after editing another document. - Crash setting an active lighting style in the directional property dialog. - Crash undoing set active camera in the render image dialog when the same camera has been set active in the animation timeline. TASK SCHEDULER- =============== Fixed the following issues: - Issue with the browse path not defaulting to the current project location. - Issue with the default path for a task report being blank. Now it is set to c:\my documents. - The start time in task properties does not follow windows regional settings time format. - Crash in servicemodule.exe if the first start of Inventor fails. ================================================================================== Notes: ====== Autodesk Inventor 10 and Autodesk Inventor 10 Service Pack 1 use the same file formats (.iam, .ipt, .idw, .ipn, .idv, .ide). All file types can be interchanged between these versions. The size of Autodesk Inventor 10 Service Pack 1 is approximately 30 MB.
