This README file highlights how to install the patch, what has been fixed, and how to download the update. ================================================================================ CONTENTS ========= - Installation Instructions - Summary of issues addressed by this Service Pack - Service Pack Download Location ================================================================================ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ========================= NOTE: This patch update applies to all flavors of Autodesk Inventor 11. (1) Download the Autodesk Inventor 11 Service Pack 1 patch file "Inventor11_SP1.msp" **You must have Administrator privileges on your local machine to install Autodesk Inventor 11 Service Pack 1** (2) Double-click on the downloaded file to start the install. You will also have a progress meter on your screen while the setup program is updating the files on your system. Click Finish when done. (3) If requested, please reboot your system after the service pack is installed. *For final verification, from within Autodesk Inventor, select "About Autodesk Inventor" from the Help menu. If Autodesk Inventor 11 Service Pack 1 has been successfully installed, the About box displays: "Build: 312b, Release: 11 SP1 "Date: Tue 05/23/2006." (4) If you encounter "Error 1406" install issue with SP1, please refer to http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=7118892&linkID=4183228 and follow the steps outlined to correct the problem. =============================================================================== Summary of issues addressed in Autodesk Inventor 11 Service Pack 1 include: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: CER stands for Crash Error Report AUTODESK INVENTOR PROFESSIONAL 11 - MODULES =========================================== CABLE AND HARNESS ================= Fixed the following issues: - A harness may not update properly if it is connected to a connector that is adaptive or constrained to an adaptive part. - Crash on double clicking the Return button in the tool bar while in the Nailboard environment. - Crash on selecting "Find in browser" context menu command after a Cable & Harness command is invoked. - Crash on deleting an iAssembly table after making a harness adaptive. - Capacity issue when opening an assembly containing a harness or a drawing containing Nailboard. TUBE AND PIPE ============= Fixed the following issues: - Engagement between a hose conduit and custom start/end fittings is not preserved after migration. - Flexible hose cannot update properly after its fitting is dragged on pipe run level. - Dimension visibility of some routes is not turned off after migration. - Update does not work for a T&P iAssembly member if the assembly has been saved with the member not being activated. - Pipe routes do not update if they are created in Weldment assemblies. - Fail to place a fitting on a tube route at a 90-degree bend. - After migration, tube route with fittings placed at 90-degree bend is marked as comatose. - Crash on switching iAssembly members if the files of current member are unresolved. - Crash on invoking 'Find in Browser' for T&P route sketch point. - Placed branch fitting can not be rotated for the first time. STRESS ANALYSIS =============== Fixed the following issues: - Noticeable repainting and highlighting of the browser when switching to Stress Analysis panel or performing Stress Analysis Update for an in-place activated part of an assembly. - Glyphs are seen when editing part features that have applied loads. - Crash on saving Stress Analysis animation repeatedly. - Cannot import motion loads when Japanese or Chinese localized Inventor is installed on English operating system. DYNAMIC SIMULATION ================== Fixed the following issues: - Crash on using the test feature in the Repair Redundancies dialog for some simulations. - Crash on closing an assembly during simulation and entering DS in a different assembly in the same session. - Crash on using "Export to FEA" with a part that has a slash character in the filename - Crash if a DS dialog or message is not closed before invoking another command or creating a new document. - Crash accessing DS commands outside DS environment via customized toolbars - Crash after importing and deleting several modified simulations in the Output Grapher. - Memory leaks with some simulations that contain contact joints. - Crash suppressing a component used to define gravity and returning to the simulation. - Crash to desktop attempting to create a 3D contact joint with spherical bodies. - Unable to change the DS browser from DS to model back to DS after switching to assembly. - Crash when running particular simulations with rolling cone in cone joint. - Crash invoking an in-place edit of a component during a simulation with screen refresh deactivated. - Memory may be in an inconsistent state when entering the DS environment with unresolved references. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AUTODESK INVENTOR 11 ==================== AEC Exchange ============ Fixed the following issues: - The shape of the connector does not update immediately when the parameters it is driven by are modified. - The height and width of oval duct connectors don't retain the flipped values. When edited, they revert back to the original values. API === Fixed the following issues: - Sometimes closing a derived part document inside a transaction crashes Inventor. - Incorrect ReferenceStatus returned for a ReferencedOLEFile in a new (unsaved) document. - TaperAngle property of PathSweepDef object returns Nothing if ProfileOrientation is kParallelToOriginalProfile - Could not insert some parts of ContentCenter when the styles library access was set to No. - Crash on double click return button on the toolbar if a customized parallel environment is activated - Inventor crashes if OverlayGraphics is created in a transaction and that transaction is either undone or aborted. - Inventor crashes on document open if previous open was aborted. - Sweep feature doesn't return start, side and end faces. - GetDesignViewRepresentations fails for some documents. - Creating a derived part fails. - Adding a Column whose width is zero using Column Chooser is not displayed on the sheet. - Save the modified sweep feature will crash Inventor - Creating a LinearGeneralDimension on two circular curves throws an exception. - Accessing the printmanager instance on a system with no printer configured would crash Inventor. - Inventor crashes while attempting to add assembly sketch to a SelectSet. - Problem binding ref keys back to assembly faces using vtable api in ApprenticeServer. - Inventor crashes when the mouse is hovered over the user defined browser node in weldment assembly environment after double-clicking preparations feature. - Occurrence's exclude/include flag state is not correctly shown in the preview of iAssembly configuration. - Problems with incoming parameters of OnCloseDocument and OnTerminateDocument. - Inventor crashes while attempting to delete sketch geometry selected using a crossing window. - Application.Documents.OpenWithOptions call fails for part files. - Inventor crashes while updating an Assembly document if it contains an unhealthy Part document occurrence. - The derived assembly component didn't correctly display when inserted in the Part document with a PositionalRepresentation option. - ClientView.Update fails when the Display is set to use Direct3D instead of OpenGL. - Print option "kPaperSizeCustom" in conjunction with paper size and paper height options. ASSEMBLY MODELING ================= Fixed the following issues: - Mate constraint does not get created at the pick position. - The cursor is not in the expected location when editing a cell in the BOM editor and pressing the enter key for arrow up or down. - Trails and Component positions change when migrating Autodesk Inventor 9 presentation files to Autodesk Inventor 10. - CER: crash when moving a part in a flexible representation assembly view. - No room to add heap list entries error when trying to mirror a component. - Crash when activating the master state of positional representations. - The create component dialog allows creation of parts with invalid characters. - When components are replaced in an assembly, in some cases the name and icon of component does not change in the browser tree. - Crash switching members (table replacement) when files in current member are unresolved. - Crash when "place all matching iMates" option is used. - The browser erroneously shows a sick (missing members) flag in iPart factory even after the missing row has been added back. - Multiple sketch grids are displayed when components are created in-place in a subassembly. - Crash when replacing component on a pattern instance that was table replaced. - In some cases, mirroring a part in a pre-R10 assembly may lead to a crash. - Crash when selecting the "Representation..." option from the context menu of an assembly that has sub-assemblies suppressed. - CER: crash when opening an assembly where parts were accidentally deleted and then rebuilt with the same names. - In some cases, the assembly still shows an update pending even after choosing to update it during Open. - Material value is not reported correctly in the BOM for iPart members. - iMate match list could not be configured in iPart or iAssembly tables. - Crash when activating and double clicking the check box of an LOD Rep that was renamed to contain the character '/' in its name. . - Adaptive components are transformed incorrectly when patterned. - In some cases, constraints may fail when components are dragged. - Crash when right-clicking on a component in the browser, after the file has been physically removed from disk. - Crash when a feature built with derived assembly sketch is either copied and pasted or is extracted as an iFeature. - Crash when a derived assembly that's derived with iMates is rebuilt after its link to the base has been suppressed. - Crash when a sub-assembly placement is undone before terminating the place component command. - Adding new configuration column in the iPart factory causes the members to become sick in the assembly. - Crash playing a presentation animation after a tweak creation is undone. - Prompt for unnecessary saving of a part in the save dependants dialog when saving assembly. - Member instance icon is incorrect in the browser after migration. - Editing a move face feature that is in a failed state may lead to a crash. - Most recently used values were missing in flyouts of the drive constraint dialog. - Update mass properties selection does not work from the Tools menu pull down. - Crash when a component occurrence that's used to define an iMate is deleted. - Crash when deleting a Positional Representation with transform overrides on 2 occurrences. - Crash when a presentation view created from iAssembly or iPart is undone and the same file is selected again. - Crash after migration of derived assemblies. - Mirroring assembly with component patterns does not mirror all the components. - iAssembly members always become out-of-date. - Unable to override a sub-assembly's flexible status in a positional representation. - CER: crash when opening instance of an iPart. - iMate glyph does not update when the geometry used to define it is modified. - The Model drop down menu only has one item after switching environment to Inventor Studio and back. - Crash when a derived assembly is rebuilt twice in succession after creating a composite iMate. - When migrating certain assembly files, segment errors may be encountered. - Crash double-clicking an unresolved derived component node when its base assembly file is missing. CONTENT CENTER and CONTENT LIBRARY ================================== Fixed the following issues: - Issue with Unable to Create Component dialog box placing a published R11 Component with a Custom Material as a Key Column. - Crash opening a Content Center component with a Presentation file open. - Crash when Alt + double-click fastener JIS B 1111 (Z). - Crash changing size twice for the ANSI/AFBMA Std 8.2 n-00 (inch) family of components. - Crash after second Replace from Content Center command when a comma is used as the decimal delimiter. - Issue where a Refresh operation is required after browsing to, or canceling the placement, of a Feature. - Crash observed during a Change Size operation on a fitting placed through the Replace from Content Center command. - Issue where Publishing fails to recognize a mapped parameter within a Tube & Pipe authored component. - Crash after the third drag of a Feature from the Favorites to a Part. - Crash when repeated Change Size operations are used to change the Material of a user published component. - Crash seen using key after exiting the Column Properties dialog accessed from the Family Table dialog. - CER: Crash when placing components from an Imported R10.0 Library. - Crash related to solving assembly modifications with very short tube or pipe components. - Failure to update the diameter of Round Bars GB 702-86 using the Change Size or Replace from Content Center commands. - Incorrect section size used for ANSI/AISC Rectangular Steel Bar, 4x1/2. - Inability to insert both head types of JIS B 1111 H into a single assembly. - Incorrect head type for IS 6101 screws. - Incorrect length designation for BS 4: Part 1 I-beams. DESIGN ACCELERATOR and FRAME GENERATOR ====================================== Fixed the following issues: - Crash adding an ANSI parallel Key to an existing keyway on a shaft. - Incorrect blind Hole and Thread Depth set upon editing a Bolted Connection. - Crash when switching to another application window with the Key Generator displaying a list of keys. - Crash using the Key Generator having previously logged out of the Content server. - Crash when access Frame Generator without an open Inventor document. DRAWING MANAGER =============== Fixed the following issues: Use Bitmap for Shaded Views (document setting) set to "Always" on file migration to R11 RTM. Files migrated into R11 Sp1 will be set to "Offline Only" and new registry setting is provided to override this setting causing all files to be set to use the model bitmap regardless of the document setting. Change the setting: "UseBitmapForShadedViewOnlyWhenOffline" from 0 to 1 found in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion11.0\Applets\DrawingLayout\Preferences\DrawingFormat Note that if no changes have been made to files already migrated to R11 RTM, legacy files can be re-migrated to R11 Sp1 causing the document setting to be set to "Offline Only" - Views of Positional Representations are out-of-date with respect to the assembly. - Not able to place ordinate dimension and hole table origin indicator at chamfer corner. - Once annotated to normal geometry, an origin indicator cannot be re-associated to an apparent intersection. - Silhouette edge display for some view geometry is not correct. - Parameter text in a leader is changed to static text when its view is copied to another drawing file. - OLE excel table in a drawing may not keep connection when the source file is not found on disk. - Invisible rows in a parts list are also exported. - Incorrect parts list export - "10-32" value in parts list exports to "Oct 32" in Excel. - Drawing is marked as dirty in the Vault when updating a part and saving with the save options unchecked under Application Options. - Saved camera option is missing while creating views of presentation files that have saved camera explosion. - Prompt to resolve link after renaming an Excel file used in a table. - Custom filter setting is lost in new session of Inventor. - Parts list column headings become empty after updating the parts list style. - Style conflict warning in drawing templates for non drawing styles, example, color styles. - Cannot create a "current" orientation view of an iAssembly. - CER: Crash in some cases when printing or publishing drawing sheets with detail views. - CER: Crash in some cases when selecting welds. - CER: Crash when migrating some files with weld annotations. - CER: Crash in some cases when placing diameter dimensions. - CER: Crash when moving views with sketches. - CER: Crash in some cases when opening Inventor 1 or Inventor 2 drawings. - CER: Crash when drawing attempts to update itself for deleted configurations. - CER: Crash when trying to use properties on a content part which can't be found. - CER: Crash when saving a drawing which uses a customized template. - CER: Crash when using "hole/thread notes" tool in the drawing annotation panel. - CER: Crash opening a second drawing after making a line invisible and undoing it in the first drawing. - Crash when returning after editing sketch dim while memory saving mode is enabled. - Crash redoing an edit of the parts list while memory save mode is enabled. - Crash after adding balloon and saving file. - Crash in some instances when opening legacy drawings. - Crash in drawing when the layer pull down is expanded and another application is activated by using the alt tab. - Crash when creating two views of different iAssemblies and editing them while memory save mode is enabled. - Crash when Level Of Detail view conflicts with weld preparation. - Crash when moving the destination view after moving a dimension from center line to center mark geometry. - Crash in edit dimension dialog with embedded model parameter if the part is unresolved. - Crash in some cases when opening drawings. - Crash second time around when cycling through all dimension styles with the chamfer note radio button selected. - Crash when editing an empty draft view label's visibility. - Crash when pasting certain character sets containing Unicode characters into sheet sketch if Direct3D is enabled. - Crash when opening certain Autodesk Inventor 9 drawings in Autodesk Inventor 11. - Crash in some cases when activating drawing sheets. - Crash loading some drawings that have unresolved references. - User defined symbol snapping information is not displayed while reattaching a symbol to view geometry. - Drawings with views of presentations open as "missing reference parts". - Printing in Autodesk Inventor and Inventor View of certain drawing files prints text incorrectly. - Autodesk Inventor 10 needs to obey the precision of document setting for default mass value in part list. - Wrong print output when printing via API and wrong print preview when viewed interactively. - Error when copying sheet with parts list only across documents. - Migrated parts lists from Autodesk Inventor 10 shows it requires an update and also displays all item numbers as overrides when edited. - Autodesk Inventor 10 user defined symbol without leader disappears after undo and redo right after opening the drawing. - Custom symbol appears to snap to geometry but does not. - Cannot create a centerline bisector using the straight edges of a punch. - Change view orientation button does not work if the part is not saved. - There is a selection filter without any name. - Autodesk Inventor runs out of memory when opening some very large Autodesk Inventor 9 drawings. - When source file is changed on a sheet metal part the create view dialog does not revert back to folded model. - Symbols attached to view edges of symmetric parts may jump to opposite edges. - Text properties don't remain at their last known value if base view is deleted while in deferred mode. - Changes cannot be saved to the Style Library when Dimension style text for horizontal dimension is set to inline. - Missing hole in hole table when end of part icon is moved. - Issue with having wrong values inside hole table (y dim value). - Hole table doesn't recognize holes when part is mirrored twice. - Using printing range (which starts on a sheet different from the first) skips some desired sheets. - Unable to undo overlay view creation. - AIP tube & pipe fittings are not turned off automatically in the drawing when a position representation is used. - Moved dimension may not update when model geometry changes. - Nominal value not retained for retrieved model dimension with tolerance. DWG/DXF/DWF =========== Fixed the following issues: - DWFOUT: Crash when publishing 6 or more BSI based sheets on Windows 2000. - DWGIN: Threads are not being translated. - DWGOUT: Crash when saving to AutoCAD Mechanical 2007 when Mechanical Desktop 2006 was last used. - DWGOUT: Model edge arc being translated to arc instead of ellipse when model arc edge was shown in isometric. - DWGOUT: Need to add the ability to output spline data from a flat pattern. - DWGOUT: Server Busy dialog comes up in certain translations. - DWGOUT: Text objects in parts list get non zero z coordinate. - DXFIN: 1000 times long border line created during translation. - MDTIN: Crash in some cases during translation of files that contain helical sweeps. - MDTIN: Crash may happen when doing an MDT import small scale drawing view. GENERAL ======= Fixed the following issues: - CER: crash while restoring from scratch file after aborting document open. - Inventor viewer crashes when the print button is clicked while a drawing file is open and the printer is not set. - Crash when saving a file to remote network Workspace after disconnecting and connecting to the same network drive. - Part properties dialog text did not respect text appearance setting of Arial Black 9pt. - Unable to see sketch preview when drawing into empty sketch in ISO view with no grid or axes displayed. - Graphics display problems of workfeatures when using Direct3D. - Part color reflection is not shown correctly in Autodesk Inventor View. - Crash when exiting if the iProperty dialog was opened in the same session. - File cannot be saved after undoing a copy component and editing it in place in the assembly. - Crash when selecting look at and clicking on the edge after freezing the view in Engineers Notebook. - Poweruser rights are required to get correctly translated Style Library entries. - Pack and Go does not include images in part sketches. - Selection box in the graphics window becomes opaque when using Direct3D. - Error message appears when right clicking in a blank field in the Style Library Manager. - CER: crash when changing document unit or dimension display. - Custom iProperty is not created if the Enter key is pressed to complete the creation. - CER: crash when closing a part after switching from Direct3D to OpenGL with Windows XP remote desktop connection. - Application options (and prompt suppression) are not saved when creation of legacy projects is enabled. IGES/STEP/SAT ============= Fixed the following issues: - Crash attempting to select a face for boundary trim. - Sanity check produces "face loop" and "co-edge out of order" errors on certain large STEP files. - In some cases, Autodesk Inventor crashes when opening IGES files. - Crash when selecting the 'Done' button after toggling the 'surfaces' button in the stitch dialog. - Stitch to 0.00001mm may lead to a crash. PART MODELING ============= Fixed the following issues: - 2D and 3D AutoCAD fit method spline reverts to standard spline when the spline is trimmed. - ACIS delete bug alert is displayed when loading legacy parts. - Assembly spline doesn't change shape when turning on flat or curvature handles. - Bend table doesn't work with R11 when you use comma as decimal separator in the OS regional options. - In some cases, unable to create loft by selecting loops on boundary patch. - CER: crash when double clicking a derived part. - CER: crash when dragging sketched spline in a part. - CER: crash when reordering features. - CER: crash when setting a sheetmetal style active. - Chamfer on certain Autodesk Inventor 10 parts fails to rebuild after migration. - 2D spline handle won't come up on editing converted spline and sometimes may lead to a crash. - Crash after unloading AutoLimits addin during grip edit. - Crash after user accepts corner collision error and continues to add new corner. - Crash and disabled context menus when creating flat pattern within assembly context. - Crash and general system error when placing custom iParts. - Crash double-clicking sick derived component node whose base component is missing. - Crash editing extend and changing the extend distance to its own model parameter name. - Crash editing extrude surface which extrudes other part's sketch in an assembly. - Crash in 3D sketch trim and extend. - Crash in boundary patch just by invoking it on a particular part. - Crash in curvature analysis when selecting face of another part while editing a part in place. - Crash in loft after switching from solid to surface mode and picking an open loop as rail. - Crash in sculpt after selecting three work planes in this particular model. - Crash in workplane on undoing create work feature. - Crash modifying a 2D spline that controls a loft's rails made by using 3D intersection. - Crash of boundary patch on attached part. - Crash on drawing migration if migration is done using task scheduler. - Crash on loft when double-clicking in the sections pane after trying to add a centerline and switching to solid. - Crash in some cases, when placing iPart member in assembly. - Crash selecting direction condition on a surface loft sketch section. - Crash trying three times to manually map a loft. - Crash updating assembly after canceling iMate errors. - Crash using the "Look at" tool on an edge used by multiple face features. - Crash when changing to face fillet after using setbacks. - Crash when deleting the body which is used in curvature analysis. - Crash when deselecting/reselecting work planes in the sculpt feature list during editing process. - Crash when double clicking on geometry while creating a dimension that will over-constrain the sketch. - Crash when dragging a spline which is copied and moved from an offset spline. - Crash when editing a two-way sharp loft to point. - Crash when invoking 3d grips for sweep feature in assembly. - Crash when save part with sweep after 3d grips editing. - Crash when solid loft is turned into surface loft. - Crash when suppressing face fillet. - Crash when switching from G1 to G2 tangency condition and after the loft dialog loses focus. - Curvature display on mirrored spline is off by default. - Direction of loft causes a failure in ASM - switching the direction cures the loft. - End points separate from spline after trimming and spline shape is not preserved. - Extra sketch constraints shown in R11. - Extrude-cut-all will fail when unchecking "preserve all features". - File corruption on migration from Inventor 10 to Inventor 11. - Hang after suppressing the first two pattern occurrences. - iMate error when editing derived after suppressing and unsuppressing links. - iMate stays suppressed when parent feature is first suppressed and then unsuppressed. - Mirrored loft fails upon rebuild all. - Moving End of Part marker causes extrusion to fail to compute the first time, but succeeds the second time. - No shaded preview for a successful G1/G2 loft - can't see the effect of G1/G2 input. - Part marked dirty but shows no lightning bolt. - Particular migrated file fails to open. - Particular part fails to rebuild in R11sp1 builds. - Particular surface extend that works in MDT fails in Inventor. - Problem with excel linking. - Projected spline point gets detached from the spline after edit the source spline. - R9 file migration failure. - Selecting direction is lost after selecting other control in the rectangular part pattern command. - Shaded preview doesn't appear when editing a sweep surface. - Some iMates fail after rebuild all. - Speedometer sample is MFC dirty after migration. - Spline ,turned in on itself by a bowtie handle drag, delays its solve until update. - Spline jumps after spline point drag which makes drag movements unpredictable. - Spline with bowtie handle changes shape drastically with small mouse drag. - Style conflict in dimensions for part template that has sketch with dimensions. - Surface loft produces flat surface for curvy rails. - Surface patterns fail to compute if consumed feature is suppressed/deleted. - Trim/extend context menu control does not reset after exiting the command. - Two rail surface loft fails on rebuild all (specific case). - Uncheck fit option in edit pattern dialog does not work for splines. - View commands are not effective in flat pattern window when editing in place. AUTOLIMITS ========== Fixed the following issues: - Crash when editing a sick AutoLimit in the browser when Realtime Refresh is unchecked. - Crash using the Find in Browser command on a nested sketch in the AutoLimits environment. INVENTOR STUDIO =============== Fixed the following issues: - Crash when defining a very large parameter in the Studio environment. - Erroneous error message seen editing a light after undoing the lighting styles activation. - Crash seen when copying two positional representations after Mirror and Copy & Paste operations. - Incorrect Start time set after editing a previous animation action. - With multiple files open in the Studio environment, changing the length of the animation timeline, caused a crash. - Using Image type rendering, the background was incorrectly rendered. - Material opacity was being ignored for color-masked diffusion maps. - Crash copying actions from one timeline to a second. - Crash rendering a model when zoomed out until the model is visually very small. - Incorrect result when copying & pasting a Positional Representation which overrides a constraint. - Crash when rendering un-edited hole features from previous release parts. - Error dialog and crash returning to the assembly environment with 2 component override/constraints suppressed. - Incorrect opacity change at end-time for a fade animation rendering. - Crash on undo after animating components in turns between documents. ================================================================================== Notes: ====== Autodesk Inventor 11 and Autodesk Inventor 11 Service Pack 1 use the same file formats (.iam, .ipt, .idw, .ipn, .idv, .ide). All file types can be interchanged between these versions. The size of Autodesk Inventor 11 Service Pack 1 is approximately 35 MB.
