    Before you begin...

      1. Install Microsoft .Net 4.0.

      2. Install all Windows Updates that are pending on your machine and reboot.

          • Windows XP: Use the Windows Update utility located in the Control Panel.

Windows 7 and Windows Vista: Use the Windows Update utility located in the Control Panel, and on the sidebar.

Note that you may be required to perform Windows Update multiple times in order to completely update your operating system.

      3. Verify that enough disk space is available on your machine to install Autodesk Product Design Suite 2012.

      4. Before installing any of the Autodesk Product Design Suites 2012, ensure you uninstall all previously installed Autodesk 2012 Beta products.

To install Autodesk Product Design Suite 2012:

      1. Download the appropriate Autodesk Product Design Suite 2012 installation files to a temporary location on your computer hard drive.
      2. Double-click the self-extracting executable file to access the Installer. The files are temporarily extracted to the Temp folder. If this temporary location is nested too many levels deep, the install fails. It is recommended that the extracted destination folder path is less than 84 characters long. We recommend that you use the default destination folder as the self-extract destination folder name. After the file is extracted, the Inventor installer wizard launches automatically. If it does not launch, browse to the folder where all files were extracted and double-click setup.exe.
      3. In the Install > Configure Installation dialog box, click the expandable arrow to set preferences.

        Important:
If you are switching languages or adding a Language Pack, ensure you browse to it and set that option before setting any other preferences. Changing a Language Pack will reset some of the installation preferences to their default values.

      4. After configuration, confirm all your preferences are set as required before starting the installation.
      5. When the installation is done, click Finish.
      6. If required, reboot the system after the installation is finished.

      1. Insert the USB stick in to an available USB port on your computer, wait till Windows recognized the device.
      2. The Autoplay dialog will launched automatically, choose "Open foloder to view files". If it does not launch, open "My Computer", a new icon using the next available drive leter labeled "PDSSUITE" will appear automatically, then open that drive.
      3. Double-click setup.exe to start the installation.
      4. In the Install > Configure Installation dialog box, click the expandable arrow to set preferences.

Important: If you are switching languages or adding a Language Pack, ensure you browse to it and set that option before setting any other preferences. Changing a Language Pack will reset some of the installation preferences to their default values.

      5. After configuration, confirm all your preferences are set as required before starting the installation.
      6. When the installation is done, click Finish.
      7. If required, reboot the system after the installation is finished.
