This hotfix addresses the performance of the Project Navigator when the project is stored on a remote server. Important: This hotfix should only be applied if you are experiencing performance issues using Project Navigator over a wide area network (WAN). Applying the hotfix will reduce the time it takes for the Project Navigator to open, close and refresh. The time it takes to start a Callout tool when working in a project has also been reduced. Modification of the Project Properties when the project .apj file is either read-only or locked by another user has been stabilized. There are many other factors that can affect the performance of Project Navigator, such as network latency or saturation. These issues can affect the time it takes to open or plot a file. These problems are beyond the scope of this hotfix. To work around these issues, you can try changing the FIELDEVAL setting to avoid automatic update on open or plot (for example, use 24 to update only during ETRANSMIT and REGEN). Using caching or mirroring techniques can also improve Project Navigator performance significantly. To install the hotfix: 1. First rename (or copy to a different location) the AecProjectBase47.dbx file located in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared directory and the AecProject47.arx file located in your . 2. If Architectural Desktop 2006 has been installed to the default location (C:\Program Files\Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006), download and run ADT2006PN.exe, and then accept the default directory. The two files will then be installed in the correct locations. If you used a different installation location, open ADT2006PN.exe and place AecProjectBase47.dbx in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared directory and AecProject47.arx in the program install directory.
