General Installation Information

Important: You cannot run an automatic uninstall to remove this service pack. To restore your version of Autodesk Civil 3D 2006 to its pre-service pack state, uninstall Autodesk Civil 3D 2006 and reinstall it.

Installation Information for Side-By-Side Installs

If you have additional AutoCAD-based products installed on your computer, you may need to apply additional service packs to ensure all the products continue to work properly after you install the Autodesk Civil 3D 2006 Service Pack 2.

These include the following service packs:

For example, if you have Autodesk Land Desktop 2006 installed on the same computer as Autodesk Civil 3D 2006, you must install both Autodesk Land Desktop 2006 Service Pack 1 and Autodesk Civil 3D 2006 Service Pack 2 to ensure both products continue to work properly.

Applying Service Packs to Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Map 3D

If you have both Autodesk Civil 3D 2006 and Autodesk Map 3D 2006 installed on the same computer, the recommended order to apply the service packs is as follows:

  1. Apply the Autodesk Map 3D 2006 Service Pack 1.
  2. Apply the Autodesk Civil 3D 2006 Service Pack 2.

If you install in the reverse order, several benign error messages will be displayed while installing the Map service pack. This is because the files in the Map service pack will have already been updated to a newer version by the Civil 3D service pack.

The error messages will state that files have "already been updated by other means and can no longer be modified by this patch." If you receive this message, click Ignore to continue the patching process.

After you complete these procedures, any new deployments of Autodesk Civil 3D 2006 will have the service pack applied to them automatically.

NOTE: In both of the following procedures, the service pack file that you download contains an MSP (Microsoft Patch) file. You must extract that file from the executable file. To extract the MSP file from the executable, use the /e ("extract") switch.
