Installation Requirements

To use this service pack, Simulation CFD 2014 must already be installed on the system. This service pack installs over the existing Simulation CFD installation.

Autodesk® Simulation CFD supports the following operating systems:

·           Windows 8 Enterprise x64

·           Windows® 7 Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate (SP0 or SP1 for x86 and x64)

·            Windows XP Professional (x86: SP3, .net 4.0; x64: SP2, .net 4.0 SP1).

Verify that you have administrator privileges on your local machine to install Simulation CFD 2014.

For a complete list of installation requirements, consult the System Requirements document available from the installer.

For Windows® 7 and XP, the 32-Bit and 64-Bit versions of Autodesk® Simulation CFD are delivered in separate installation packages. It is important to install the correct version for your system. The 64-bit version of Autodesk® Simulation CFD cannot be installed on a 32-bit system, nor can the 32-bit version be installed on a 64-bit system.

Issues Addressed in this Service Pack

·         After opening an Inventor part or assembly directly into Simulation CFD, using the Add/Update Design command results in an error.

·         In certain situations, mouse navigation (pan, zoom, and rotate) has delays and is slow to respond.

·         Revit 2014 models in metric units are scaled by a factor of 1000 when launched into Simulation CFD 2014.

·         An error with the Material Dictionary file occurs when running SimCFDConfig to change the user interface language. The error was also seen when installing on a non-English system in a non-default path.

·         The solver hangs when saving intermediate results for conduction-only (no flow) simulations with temperature boundary conditions and intermediate results output.

·         Importing a large Free Surface Component Acceleration table caused a crash.

·         The function that maps CFD results to FEA loads fails on 32 Bit platforms.

·         In certain situations, the "Share file" was corrupted due to issues with part names. Note that this bug fix affects future simulations, and cannot correct issues in simulations created in previous builds.

·         A two-dimensional axisymmetric simulation fails when using the new distributed resistance formulation in Simulation CFD 2014.

·         An error message about failing to create the Attribute Set was issued when launching a specific model from Inventor into Simulation CFD. The problem was traced to a specific feature in the model.
