AEC Dimension Hang and Crash Hotfix

This hotfix repairs a performance and display problem when opening drawings containing certain AEC dimensions,

This hotfix repairs a crash problem when saving drawings containging some kinds of AEC dimensions.

Description of Problem

Certain AEC Dimensions do not display completely, and it will take long time or hang when opening some drawings containing AEC Dimensions in ACA 2012.

AutoCAD Architecture may crash when saving drawings containing some kinds of AEC dimensions.

Installation Instructions

To AEC Dimension Hang Hotfix

You must have administrative privileges on your Microsoft^® Windows^® operating system to complete the installation process.

This installation requires you to replace the following files:

• AecArchDACHBase.dbx

Prerequisite: Ensure that Update 1 for AutoCAD Architecture 2012 is installed before you apply this hotfix.

To Replace the AecArchDACHBase.dbx File

1. Close all software applications.
2. Navigate to your product installation folder; for example C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD Architecture 2012.
3. In the product installation folder, Copy AecArchDACHBase.dbx to another position as a backup.
4. Download the file for your application to a location on your local computer:
   • Double click on ACA2012_dimension_hang_and_crash_hotfix_x86.zip or ACA2012_dimension_hang_and_crash_hotfix_x64.zip and extract AecArchDACHBase.dbx to the folder specified in Step 2 and replace the old file.

To Uninstall This Hotfix

1. Delete the new AecArchDACHBase.dbx files that you downloaded to the folder specified in Step 4 and restore the backup file in Step 3.
