Who Should Install the Service Pack?

Service Pack 1 is for AutoCAD Map 3D 2008 running on all supported operating systems and languages.

Supported Operating Systems

This service pack can be used with the following operating systems:

Information for Windows Vista Users

Do not apply this service pack while AutoCAD Map 3D, or any other application is running on your system. Manually close AutoCAD Map 3D, and all other applications before you install this service pack.

General Updates

The following changes were made:

AutoCAD Map 3D 2008

SHP Files

Import of SHP files created in other GIS applications has been improved.

All of your parcel polygons will now be exported when you export SHP files.

The Display Manager now displays all features on SHP layers.

Plotting

When plotting FDO raster layers, you can now expect an image resolution comparable to that displayed in AutoCAD Raster Design regardless of view scale.

When plotting, you can now expect to see the same styles displayed in Plot Preview as you will see in the actual printed result.

General Issues

DWF files published in Map 3D 2008 will now be approximately the same size as those published in Map 3D 2007.

DGN import has been improved.

You can now successfully export a Map with joined data to a DWG file.

The performance of SDF files has improved by 20%.

You can now successfully select a feature when the view scale for a LAYER file is zoomed in all the way.

You can now successfully use the Zoom feature to view raster layers in Layout View.

AutoCAD Blocks

The text style in AutoCAD blocks in SDF layers will now display at the orientation to which it is set.

You can now successfully insert AutoCAD blocks with hatching in the Display Manager.

Style Editor

You can now successfully select a new theme after editing a fill style.

You can now successfully create themes in SDF files with view scale information.

Oracle Connections

You can now export a DWG that is set to an arbitrary X-Y coordinate system without losing your Oracle connection.

You can now successfully check out or update Oracle data that uses a foreign schema for a version-enabled table.

API Users

Calling the API function AcMapLayer.GetFeatureData(…) with valid entity IDs will now return an MgFeatureReader with valid Identity properties for each Feature.

Calling the API function AcMapLayer.UpdateFeatures(…) with an MgInsertFeatures command now properly returns an MgFeatureProperty with a type of MgPropertyType.Feature, and with a value of an MgFeatureReader containing the IDs of newly-created features. In addition, you must now use AcMapLayer.UpdateFeatures(…) instead of AcMapFeatureService.UpdateFeatures(…) for all editing operations, including Insert, Update, Delete, Lock, and Unlock.

AutoCAD Map 3D 2008 will now call the API function GetCurrentMap(…) in multiple open documents without quitting unexpectedly or becoming unstable.
