This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this update. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply this update to your product. For reference, you should save this document to your hard drive or print a copy.

You can apply this update to the following Autodesk products running on all supported operating systems and languages. Be sure to install the correct update for your software.
You can also use Communication Center to install the Live Update Maintenance Patches, which will automatically show the correct update for your product.

When you apply this update while running AutoCAD Electrical, it is recommended that you do not click the "Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete" option. Instead, close AutoCAD Electrical manually, and press "Ignore" at the prompt. It is also recommended that you reboot your system after installing the update.
Note: AutoCAD Electrical 2011 Update 1 includes the AutoCAD 2011 Update 1.1. For issues resolved by the AutoCAD 2011 Update 1.1, please see the appropriate update readme located on the Autodesk support web site
The following defects have been fixed:
Catalog Lookup
- Catalog Lookup fails to perform search on 64 bit operating system under certain circumstances.
- OK button control remains disable after performing the desired selection in Catalog Lookup dialog.
- Catalog Lookup fails to extract the conductor list from secondary database.
- User data might be lost when updating Misc_cat table.
Cross Reference
- Cross Reference Table becomes unstable after performing copy circuit.
- Unable to perform wire signal cross reference update under certain project setting.
Insert/Edit Components/Footprints
- Certain user interface controls fail to react on Panel Footprint dialog.
- The INST/LOC attribute's visibility changes when performing component editing or multiple insert.
- Location/Installation Codes become unstable if SDI mode is set to 1.
- Coil pins can be blanked when reassign of Catalog without pin list.
Miscellaneous
- Unable to perform a re-tag on PLC modules inserted as fixed units.
- Symbol Builder becomes unstable when editing symbol.
Project Manager
- Project Manager becomes unstable when updating project properties.
- Publish to DWF becomes unstable if FILEDIA mode is set to 0.
Reports
- Surf becomes unstable after performing BOM report.
- Some cable markers information is not listed in Cable From/To report.
- Unable to surf on a report table under certain circumstances.
- Performance issue in Cable From/To report.
Terminal Strip Editor
- Terminal Strip Editor becomes unstable on certain project setting.
- Some attributes' visibility changes when inserting or rebuilding terminal strip.
Wires
- Lineweight value changes after updating wire network.
- Source-arrowed wire network fails to synchronize after updating its destination-arrowed wire network.
- Wire numbers are duplicated when performing wire tagging.
- Cable markers with shield fails to be inserted if SNAP mode is set to 1.

Back Up Custom Files
It is recommended that you back up all custom CUI, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this update.
Administrative Privileges
During installation, you will be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this update, you must have administrative privileges to install and uninstall products.
Network Deployment
Administrators can deploy this update over a network using the Deployment wizard.
About Your Product
After you install, product information displays in the About dialog box.
Reboot
After you install, be sure to reboot your system even if not prompted.

Follow these instructions to install this update on a single computer.
You can use InfoCenter to apply this update through your local network. Detailed instructions on how to set up patching through your local network are listed in the InfoCenter tab of the CAD Manager Control Utility Help.
Note: You can install the CAD Manager Control Utility from the product installation media. Select Install Tools and Utilities and then select Autodesk CAD Manager Tools.
The following distribution method applies only to administrative images created with the Deployment wizard. After you complete these procedures, subsequent deployments of your product will include this update.
In all cases, append this update to the deployment. The only time it is appropriate to merge an update is if you intend to distribute the deployment through a group policy object.
The patch (update) file that you download contains an MSP (Microsoft Patch) file, which you extract from the executable file using the /e (extract) switch. For an example of the syntax, see step 2, below.

Note: This update cannot be uninstalled when the product is installed from a deployment (also called an administrative image) with a merged update. During uninstalling, you will be prompted for the original installation media or a network image.
