This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this update. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply this update to your product. For reference, you should save this document to your hard drive or print a copy.

You can apply this update to the following Autodesk products running on all supported operating systems and languages. Be sure to install the correct update for your software.
NOTE: Before installing Update 2, you need to install Update 1. If you already have update 1 installed you can now install update 2.

When you apply this update while running AutoCAD Electrical, it is recommended that you do not click the "Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete" option. Instead, close AutoCAD Electrical manually, and press "Ignore" at the prompt. It is also recommended that you reboot your system after installing the update.
Note: AutoCAD Electrical 2011 Update 2 includes the AutoCAD 2011 Update 2. For issues resolved by the AutoCAD 2011 Update 2, please see the appropriate update readme located on the Autodesk support web site
The following defects have been fixed:
Catalog Lookup
Update 1
- Catalog Lookup fails to perform search on 64 bit operating system under certain circumstances.
- OK button control remains disable after performing the desired selection in Catalog Lookup dialog.
- Catalog Lookup fails to extract the conductor list from secondary database.
- User data might be lost when updating Misc_cat table.
Update 2
- Catalog lookup drop-down filters used to hide filters not used if Filter by WDBLKNAM was used.
- Cannot add new record in catalog lookup if including single quote character.
Circuit
Update 2
- Wire is deleted when insert a WBlocked circuit.
- Insert WBlocked Circuit affects Wires and Sequence from original Circuit.
- Gap pointer is missing after AECOPYCIRCUIT command.
Cross Reference
Update 1
- Cross Reference Table becomes unstable after performing copy circuit.
- Unable to perform wire signal cross reference update under certain project setting.
Insert/Edit Components/Footprints
Update 1
- Certain user interface controls fail to react on Panel Footprint dialog.
- The INST/LOC attribute's visibility changes when performing component editing or multiple insert.
- Location/Installation Codes become unstable if SDI mode is set to 1.
Update 2
- Coil pins assigned gets blanked out when catalog data with no pinlist is assigned to component.
- Panel footprints and nameplates not working well with split tag.
- Item Entry can disable Catalog Data when Editing the Footprint and using Schematic List.
- Project list of terminal strips on the Insert/Edit Terminal Symbol dialog box duplicating strips.
- Block authoring element position lock does not work for footprint attributes after insertion.
Miscellaneous
Update 1
- Unable to perform a re-tag on PLC modules inserted as fixed units.
- Symbol Builder becomes unstable when editing symbol.
Update 2
- Cannot export more than 32 cables from AutoCAD Electrical into Inventor.
- Conductor List can not be saved for cable marker.
- Random Project Database Service crash during Project Wide operations.
- The attribute values of pins are visible after drawing converted using Promis•E conversion utility.
- Unable to update Plottime options with Title Update after Plotting.
- Source and Destination signals ignore Wire with no number.
Project Manager
Update 1
- Project Manager becomes unstable when updating project properties.
- Publish to DWF becomes unstable if FILEDIA mode is set to 0.
Update 2
- Drawing set as "For Reference Only" does not work.
- AutoCAD Electrical crashes when performing some operations in Project Manager.
- Project location text in Uppercase changes to Lowercase in Project Manager on reopening AutoCAD Electrical.
Reports
Update 1
- Surf becomes unstable after performing BOM report.
- Some cable markers information is not listed in Cable From/To report.
- Unable to surf on a report table under certain circumstances.
- Performance issue in Cable From/To report.
Update 2
- Sort fields in Automatic Reports is limited.
- Fan-In/Out cable marker colors are not shown in Cable From/To report.
- Wire From/ To report not working correctly when using User Post "Report only non-cables" on some drawings.
- Sort fields are reset after click Cancel and application can lock up for Component report.
Symbol Builder
Update 2
- Wire connection attributes not inserted properly for the first time in Symbol Builder.
- WD_SLB environment location is not honoured by Symbol Builder.
Terminal Strip Editor
Update 1
- Terminal Strip Editor becomes unstable on certain project setting.
- Some attributes' visibility changes when inserting or rebuilding terminal strip.
Update 2
- Unhandled Exception when inserting Terminal Strip.
- Terminal Strip Editor splits the Terminal Strip.
Wires
Update 1
- Lineweight value changes after updating wire network.
- Source-arrowed wire network fails to synchronize after updating its destination-arrowed wire network.
- Wire numbers are duplicated when performing wire tagging.
- Cable markers with shield fails to be inserted if SNAP mode is set to 1.

Back Up Custom Files
It is recommended that you back up all custom CUI, MNR, and MNL files before you apply this update.
Administrative Privileges
During installation, you will be prompted for the original installation media or a network image. In order to apply this update, you must have administrative privileges to install and uninstall products.
Network Deployment
Administrators can deploy this update over a network using the Deployment wizard.
About Your Product
After you install, product information displays in the About dialog box.
Reboot
After you install, be sure to reboot your system even if not prompted.

Follow these instructions to install this update on a single computer.
You can use InfoCenter to apply this update through your local network. Detailed instructions on how to set up patching through your local network are listed in the InfoCenter tab of the CAD Manager Control Utility Help.
Note: You can install the CAD Manager Control Utility from the product installation media. Select Install Tools and Utilities and then select Autodesk CAD Manager Tools.
NOTE: Update 2 cannot be deployed through an administrative image. You can apply update 2 at the workstation as long as it is already patched to Update 1.
