INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: This service pack update only applies to the Autodesk Vault 5 and Autodesk Productstream 5 client and server products.

NOTE: Autodesk strongly recommends using the Vault Manager backup utility to backup all databases and necessary files PRIOR to installing this service pack.

To install client and server changes for Vault 5 and Productstream 5 sp1:
1. Download the Autodesk Data Management Server 5 service pack 1 file ADMS5_SP1.zip.
2. Unzip the file to a temporary directory. 
3. Double-click on the ADMS5_SP1.exe file to begin installing the service pack.
4. To verify the service pack was installed successfully, go to the Windows Start->Settings->Control Panel and open Add/Remove programs. Check the 'Show Updates' checkbox (in Windows XP). Find the Autodesk Vault 5 or Productstream 5 entries and notice the 'Autodesk Data Management 5 SP1' is listed.

SUMMARY OF ISSUES ADDRESSED BY THIS SERVICE PACK

Vault Installer

• Uninstall Vault Explorer - The vault options are not removed from Inventor after uninstalling Vault Explorer

Vault Administration

• FilterConfig.XML not restored from backup
• Cannot restore backups from Vault 2 & 3 when SQL 2005 Express installed.
• R10 Libraries not Deleted on Restore if KVM is Missing
• Identical FriendlyName Values Cause Migration Failure
• Migrating Read/Write Library crashes in ADMS 5.
• Adding html files to the Vault shows a error dialog on the server machine
• Added a new property that will use the Filename without the extension for Item properties
• AutoCAD files only - Thumbnail becomes 'Data empty' after some VE operations
• Fail to map Inventor 'Web Link' property to item property
• Item properties behaviour change after backup and restore
• There are two stock number in PS after checking in file with stock number value.
• A CER is thrown everytime a user clicks on the "License Agreement" button (EULA)
• The duplicate file name error dialog needs a horizontal scroll bar.
• Locking down the ACLs on the local filestore blocks you from creating a new vault.
• Drag and drop a file to a folder, in which you just revoked your rights too will hang Productstream client
• Inside Vault Server, the CER report that was displayed while trying to give invalid data in Import Library dialog box.
• The CER when creating a vault using illegal characters as File Store location.

AutoCAD client

• Exiting any ACAD application with Vault installed generates an Exception in the acad.err file
• AutoCAD Electrical crashes during project-wide retag when a file in the background is selected as drawing to process
• If a folder on disk is created with foreign characters on English operating system, some Vault operations may show '????' for the folder name
• Attach/Open from Vault causes increase in GDI object count.
• ACM-MDT viewdialogs: Preview function doesn't work.
• After using command Check In from Visual Basic for Applications, an error dialog is sometimes posted when exiting ACAD
• All files are replaced locally during Get Latest for all files when responding Yes to the prompt to confirm file replace for one file, even when responding No to the rest of the files.
• attribute created with Block Editor is not being extracted.
• System should ALWAYS prompt for file check-in upon file close.
• Prompts that we see for Invisible options are not getting saved and they go back to default after we close and restart AutoCAD.
• System shall do 'Get Latest Item Property' via Vault Toolbar on files that had been checked out (either green with tick' or 'red with tick)
• System does not do Get Latest Item Property on attributes with identical Field Name for Tag and Prompt, regardless the letter case (case insensitivie)
• Checkin a single file to a folder with 'No Access' will not update the Vault Status Icon correctly.
• Folder refresh does not happen for when a user is accessing a folder which is actively having the folder level permissions modified. This is seen specifically during the 'Open from vault' command.
• After performing an Undo Checkout, other users are unable to perform checkout of the same file
• System shall do 'Get Latest Item Property' via Vault Toolbar on files that had been checked out (either 'green with tick' or 'red with tick')

Autoloader

• An error message with "Could not validate the files" pops up when finish validate the iparts file.
• Export Functionality is not working
• Export to XLS Fails
• An error window pops up when click "Export Report" button after install office 2003 English edition.
• On German localized product, the first upload will work but the next login attempt will show "designs.ipj has changed" message
• An error message displayes after click Close group at task bar
• String in the "Copy And File Redirection Progress" is truncated
• Server error appears when uploading 10k files
• Unhandled exception appears if you repeatly scan Autoloader.ipj on Talon 11.0.118a.0 build
• The Autoloader crashes while scanning the files of the AutoLoader.ipj project
• Click Export button after rescan the Pad lock.idw, 'Export data error' message appears
• Not all files scanned and validated are uploaded to the vault
• Some files upload Status/Message is wrong, it should be "Idendicalfiles"
• An unhandled exception occurred in AL after completing the scan
• Incorrect date format in ATL_AutoloaderReport.png

Vault Explorer

• Check in for shared CAD files fails when "enforced file name" is checked.
• Unable to Copy Design a previous version of a file if it was created before a rename operation
• Only 'Reuse' option is available in Copy Design when the workspace name set in the Project file has a differnt case than the vault folder.
• Vault Explorer crashes when using the Set Project File option in Copy Design
• Copy Design to other folder location fails when changing the version to a previous version and then back to latest.
• Copy Design creates an orphaned child file
• Vault crash when sharing a file to a folder in which the user does not have folder permissions.
• Get Previous Version command gives CER when more than one user attempts to Get Previos in a shared working environment.
• Get Latest Version command gives CER when more than one user attempts to Get Latest in a shared working environment.
• Adding a large amount of files to a folder that already contains a large amount of files results in unneeded server calls.
• Edit a Civil 3D 2007 file from Vault Explorer, opens in regular AutoCAD 2007.
• Progress dialog will not respond when Get Entire Folder is performed on an empty folder.
• Rename configuration factory file returns error
• Restore a label fails if "Enforced Unique File Name" is turned on and shared files are present.
• Move file to a new folder that starts with the same letter as the folder it originated will result in Error 1024
• File properties are not updated correctly in Items once the Edit Properties command has been used.
• Error dialog is displayed while using Copy Design functionality after ignoring restrictions and purging previous versions of that file.
• AutoCAD unable to reference to child file (image file) after renaming it
• AutoCAD is not showing the correct child reference (image file) after file replace operation
• Customizing Advanced Search columns pops CER on subsequent seraches
• Find takes too long and eventually times out.

Inventor client

• Get "invalid character" error message when trying to check in a particular part file
• Add project of an assembly with a missing reference populates a missing reference dialog during scan
• An extra refresh was sometime necessary after adding an assembly and keeping it checked out
• Assembly references being lost after check in
• Add Project prompts to save when a file is open in the Inventor
• Open files from Vault sometimes failed if there is a harness or TP master runs made adaptive in the top assembly
• Inventor crashes when Log out if there is a manual attachment which does not have a local copy
• The manual attachment disappears after performing some edit in Vault Browser
• Dirty files can be checked in before OLE is added
• Exiting Inventor with checked-out files which include those outside of project results in Inventor lock-up
• Checking in some types of assembly files causes Inventor to crash
• DWFs are not displayed for Inventor Assemblies
• The DWF files are displayed in the Add Files dialog
• DWF publish not honoring administrator override for DWF creation
• Inventor will freeze when playing a vaulted IPN file with all prompts checked
• Property Write Back does not update Title block in IDW
• Reset all in Inventor while client is uninstalled will result in no vault menus upon the install of the client
• Inventor crashes when you Check Out or Undo Check Out of an assembly which has a component out of the cone of reference of the project file
• A new item has been created after "Undo" and "save" and "CheckIn"
• Mapping Files dialog populates an extra dialog when invoked from add files
• Crash when Property Write back on a unresolved assembly
• Crash switching members of an iPart after a generated member is edited
• Fixed an issue with the Vault loaded and using the API method SetTransfomWithoutConstraints
• Unable to write item properties for iAssemblies
• New dwf version can't be created if Right Mouse Button Edit then check in with "create dwf attachment" checked for Inventor files
• Two Vault addins and two Productstreams appear launching R10 after R11 is installed; vault un-usable in R10
• Open from Vault button is removed from toolbar during 3D sketch edit
• Unable to check-in assembly with Inventor 10 SP3a and Vault 5 Add-in
• The dirty assembly file can be Checked In before the child part is added to the Vault
• Property Write Back dirties the file
• Vault browser is unavailable if a Vault project is created in C:\
• Inventor throws bug alert against FireEventImp and crashes on undo or redo after placing a drawing view if Inventor Vault addin is loaded (single user project)

Microsoft Office client

• MS Word becomes very slow with Vault client
• The suppression of check in when close does not take effect when close without edit.
• Selecting cancel in the save dialog for Word can make the tool bar incorrect
• The CheckIn dialog may pop up when closing a document if the file was Checked Out and not modified
• The title bar may show file is Checked Out(read-only) when the file file should not be read-only. This sometimes happens when the file is Checked Out but there is no local copy.
• PowerPoint will crash when edit the embed word file without check out.

Productstream client

• BOM and Detail ID are incorrect if there is a Virtual component in subassembly and All Levels is selected in INV.
• Error appears when view UDP in the Assign Item Wizard while changing the view type
• The file list is duplicated when saving the markup
• Word document attached to ECO is not reflecting the latest version as ECO proceeds forward
• Cannot remove the newly added user and cannot remove the Notification User role of newly added user
• Error 1317 appears when update a checked out subassembly item.
• Update a check-out item may result improper CER error
• Assigning an item number, exception occurs during a PromoteCommand ( In certain peculiar/odd instances)
• Could not delete a folder after launching the Assign item wizard.
• Update the assembly which has a non-model file as secondary link will lose its BOM.
• Fail to find duplicates after edit the Part Number by 'Edit Properties'.
• Error 1317 appears when Update a checked out ACM item with property mapping enabled
• New Item number is not getting created when we change the length of a bolt
• Unable to see items number for Children after migrating files from Task Scheduler
• Error 1388 Failed trying to determine restrictions
• Error 1317 appears when update the non-cad item which has another non-cad child
• Update should not update "Released" ACM sub assembly.
• Unable to release items when property changes are made and revision bumps are disabled (Released to WIP) -> Effective data of the children is greater than the parent
• Time out encountered during lifecycle state change
• Server makes incorrect effectivity check during life cycle state change.
• When creating Item Numbers from AutoCAD drawings, the Component Name Mapping is not taking out the file extension.
• Merged File Properties can not be mapped to item property correctly
• Dimension Tools are missing after installing Design Review/DWF Viewer 7
• Callout Tools can not be used
• Roll Back Lifecycle command should be available in BOM tab of preview pane
• Pop up indicator envelops some menus in item edit and change order edit dialog
• CER report is generated for 'Get Latest Version'
• Assembly BOM export is not correct when its sub-assembly is shared with other assemblies
• Some improvement made for item import
• Can't import items with user defined scheme
