Project Browser Startup Hotfix Readme – English Only Invoking the project browser on application launch will cause a crash if the AutoCAD Architecture 2008 Service Pack 1 is installed when the user has chosen to participate in the Customer Involvement Program (CIP.) The project browser is invoked on launch if any of the following conditions is met: • “Show Project Browser at startup” is enabled in AEC Project Defaults within Options • The application was closed with an active project and then launched with the project no longer available. Known Problems fixed This update will correct: • Installing this hotfix will eliminate this project browser start-up issue and prevent it from occurring in the future. Affected Products • AutoCAD Architecture 2008, Service Pack 1 Installation Instructions To install this Hotfix: ________________________________________ Note: Administrative privileges are recommended on your Microsoft® Windows® operating system to complete the installation process. ________________________________________ 1. Close AutoCAD Architecture 2008 (SP1) if the application is running. 2. Navigate to the location of your existing AutoCAD Architecture 2008 (SP1) installation. By default the location is: “C:\Program Files\AutoCAD Architecture 2008” 3. Rename the existing file “AecBaseEx.dbx” to “AecBaseEx_ORIGINAL.dbx” to preserve it in case you need to revert back for any reason in the future 4. Place the new file “AecBaseEx.dbx” from the ZIP archive into this same directory 5. Restart AutoCAD Architecture 2008.
