AnswerWorks Hotfix

This hotfix repairs a security vulnerability in Versions 4.0X and 5.0X of the AnswerWorks^™ Desktop, used in previous releases of Autodesk^® products.

Description of Problem

An upcoming Microsoft^® update to eliminate the security vulnerability caused by Versions 4.0X and 5.0X of the AnswerWorks Desktop will prevent the Help system from functioning correctly in previous releases of Autodesk products.

• Products based on AutoCAD^® 2004-2007

Installation Instructions

To install the AnswerWorks Hotfix

1. Close all applications and log in as Administrator.
2. Download the file awMinimalPatch.msi to a local folder.
3. Double-click on the msi file and follow the instructions on your screen.

NOTE: This hotfix must be installed to maintain search functionality and the security of your system. For these reasons, once installed, this hotfix cannot be removed.
