Applying this hotfix prevents the installer from failing to configure new users or failing after Merging the Service Pack to an Administrative Image.
As a result of detailed information from customers, a number of problems were identified and fixed. Updates have been made in the following commands and features:
"This version of AutoCAD was not installed properly and some features may not run correctly. You should reinstall AutoCAD immediately to make sure all features are working properly."
Important: You must close all applications before installing the AutoCAD Raster Design 2009 Installer hotfix.
1. From the Product Support web site, download the service pack file.
2. Copy the service pack EXE file into a temporary folder on your computer and run the file.
1. Download and/or copy the service pack to a location on your hard drive (i.e. c:\temp\ autocad_raster_design_2009_installer_hf.exe).
2. From the command prompt type the following: "c:\temp\autocad_raster_design_2009_installer_hf.exe /e c:\temp\install_hotfix.msp".
3. This will extract the update to an MSP called "install_hotfix.msp".
1. In Windows Explorer, browse to the location of your deployment.
2. Open the Tools folder.
3. In the Tools folder, Double-click on the "Create & modify a deployment" shortcut.
4. In the Deployment Wizard, select the "Modify an existing deployment" radio button.
5. Click Next until you are on the "Review - Configure - Create Deployments" page of the Deployment Wizard.
6. In the "Review - Configure - Create Deployments" page, click the Configure button.
7. Click Next until you are on the "Include Service Packs" page.
Note: This page must already list the "AutoCAD Raster Design 2009 SP1" in the "Service packs included in this deployment:" text box.

8. Click Browse.
9. Browse to the MSP extracted in the previous steps.
10. Select the MSP file.
11. Click Open.
"AutoCAD Raster Design 2009 AutoCAD Raster Design 2009 SP2" will be listed on the second line in the "Service packs included in this deployment:" text box.
12. Click the "Complete Configuration" button.
13. Click the "Create Deployment" button.
14. Click Finish.
