In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has
released Service Pack 2 for Autodesk Simulation Mechanical 2013 and Autodesk
Simulation Multiphysics 2013, which fixes or addresses a variety of issues
pertaining to the program. This file highlights how to install the service pack
and what has been fixed.

- Install only the bit-type version of Autodesk
Simulation Mechanical or Multiphysics 2013 Service Pack 2 that
corresponds to the bit-type version of your operation system. This will
also be the bit-type version of your existing installation of Autodesk
Simulation Mechanical or Multiphysics 2013.
- For deployed installations, append the Service
Pack to your existing deployment image instead of merging it, as
suggested for all service pack releases.
- In case you are prompted for the original
installation disc or network image during installation, or
uninstallation, keep them readily accessible.
- There are no Client Updates associated with this
service pack release.
- On English operating systems, if you install
Autodesk Simulation Mechanical or Multiphysics 2013 under a path with
non-English characters, it does not launch.
- On some Windows 7 operating systems, when
uninstalling Autodesk Simulation Mechanical or Multiphysics 2013, Windows
Explorer shuts down.

- Autodesk Simulation Mechanical and Multiphysics
2013 Service Pack 2 supports Windows 7 32bit, Windows 7 64bit, XP 32bit
SP3, XP 64bit SP2, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008. If your
operating system does not meet these requirements, please update it
before you begin the installation.
- Autodesk Simulation Mechanical or Multiphysics 2013 Service Pack 2
includes all prior updates produced since the initial 2013 release. Therefore, Service Pack 2 can be installed over Autodesk Simulation
Mechanical or Multiphysics 2013 or 2013 Service Pack 1, whether or not
any hotfix has been applied.
- Verify that you have administrator privileges on
your local machine attempting to install programs or service packs.
- For Windows 7 installation, in the User Account
Control settings, select Never Notify Me.
- The 32-bit version of Autodesk Simulation
Mechanical or Multiphysics 2013 Service Pack 2 is approximately 45 MB in
size. A minimum of 100 MB of free disk space is required on the drive
where your temporary files are directed.
- The 64-bit version of Autodesk Simulation
Mechanical or Multiphysics 2013 Service Pack 2 is approximately 60 MB in
size. A minimum of 120 MB of free disk space is required on the drive
where your temporary files are directed.

To install Autodesk Simulation 2013
SP2:
- If required, update your computer to one of the supported operating
systems (as listed in the Installation Requirements section above) and
reboot before installing Autodesk Simulation Mechanical or Multiphysics
2013 Service Pack 2.
- Uninstall Autodesk Simulation Mechanical or
Multiphysics 2013 Beta if you installed it previously.
- Download the appropriate version of Autodesk
Simulation Mechanical or Multiphysics 2013 Service Pack 2. (32-bit or
64-bit version, depending upon the bit-type of your operating
system).
- Double click the .msp file to update Autodesk
Simulation Mechanical or Multiphysics 2013 Service Pack 1 to Service
Pack 2. A progress bar displays while the installer updates the files
on your system.
- When the installation is done, click
Finish.
- If required, reboot the system after the
service pack installation is finished.
To verify the installation was successful, start Autodesk Simulation
2013. On the Help panel, select About. If the About box displays: Build
2013.02.00.nnnn, the installation was successful.

Crash
- A crash may occur when remeshing a part that includes a bolt.
- A crash occurs when trying to connect two centroids of two surfaces
in the Centroid Creator.
- A crash occurs when performing design optimization.
- A crash may occur when clicking on the Application Button if the
network connection is lost.
- A crash report may pop up when importing an Inventor Simulation
model, though the import is successful.
- A crash occurs when trying to measure length by using the endpoints
of a rectangle in a sketch plane.
- For Structured Mesh commands, a crash occurs when pressing Enter on
the keyboard before the required number of objects is selected.
- A crash occurs when drawing a rectangle in a sketch plane that
overlaps another existing sketch plane.
- A crash occurs when using radiation in a heat transfer
simulation.

Mass Transfer
- The Material Diffusivity cannot be edited in the Part Mass Species
Definition dialog box.
- The solver always uses the default material diffusivity instead of
the user-defined one.

Report
- An error message may pop up when importing a report format from
another model.

Results
- 3D Visualization cannot be turned on or off in a single operation
for multiple beam element parts.
- Cannot select any surface of a part using the browser within the
Results environment.
- An error occurs when trying to operate on presentations in Design
Scenario 20 within the Results Environment.

User Interface
- The Thermal Coefficient of Expansion is incorrectly displayed in
the material applicator of Isotropic Shell elements in MES.
- When more than one surface is selected for applying Surface
Refinement, the surface with the lowest surface number is excluded
and remains unrefined.

Others
- The global intersect command causes lines that were previously
deleted to reappear.
- Cannot run the AVE verification script.
- When attempting to run a scheduled analysis, an error is produced
and the model is not solved.
