Issues Addressed for Autodesk Utility Design 2009 Update 2
Updates have been made in the following commands and features and the following defects have also been fixed:
Project Explorer
-
Project Explorer will not open project if < or > is in a text field.
AUDINFO
-
If you insert a house corner and draw a connecting service line, the cable length in AUDINFO is incorrect.
-
AUD incorrectly calculates additional cable length for a stubbed conduit in AUDINFO and material ordering.
-
Zoom level and connected lines causes AUDINFO to report erratic Connected To results.
-
Connectivity between structures can change depending on the zoom level of the viewport, leading to perceived discrepancies between AUDINFO and Voltage Drop results.
-
The automatic addition of existing stubbed conduit length to a new cable extending from a stub cannot be disabled in AUDINFO. With this Update you can disable the functionality.
UDSSTUB
-
UDSSTUB does not allow suppression of prompts for I:UTLWHAT unit and Block name.
With this Update, the command still can be called in lisp without parameters: (C:UDSSTUB).
And now it can also be called with 3 parameters to suppress the prompts: (C:UDSSTUB "AssemblyUnit" "BlockName" "Single/Multiple") .
You can either specify values for "AssemblyUnit" and "BlockName", or leave them empty "" to accept the default settings. For the third parameter "Single/Multiple", with "Multiple" you can repeat to stub several lines until you press Enter; while with "Single", the prompt will not repeat.
Examples:
(C:UDSSTUB "" "" "Single ")
(C:UDSSTUB "" "T-STUB" " Multiple ")
-
The UDSSTUB command incorrectly sets the Global Line Width variable setting of the selected line to zero.
-
UDSSTUB, UDSSWEEP, UDSCONNECT, UDSTHICKEN, and UDSIDLINE do not work correctly when the line selected has significant thickness and is selected by the edge.
Change Status
-
The I:LOAD value is lost after changing the status of a facility with UDSCHSTATUS command.
Voltage Drop
-
Voltage Drop uses KW instead of KVA to determine transformer size.
- Transformer available candidate list does not filter out candidates with invalid Secondary Voltage.
Sag/Ruling Span
- Ruling Span operation fails when an underground cable is connected to a pole.
- Transformer Poles are not recognized by the Ruling Span operation.
- Ruling Span calculation produces inconsistent attachment heights when an even number of spans (odd number of poles) are selected for the calculation.
- With both equipment and service line on a pole, Sag/Ruling Span calculation may fail.
Material Ordering
- A Material Callout block attached to a structure is not recognized by custom and core components when its name is less than 8 characters.
- When you run the UDSSPECIALMAT command, OSNAP remains on.
- When you run the UDSCALLOUT command, OSNAP turns off.
API
- When you change a station callout block, a new interface HRESULT ReloadCfg (BOOL bJobOnly) is added and is used to reload the configuration in the memory.
- Using the AudEntityLabel COM API to create new line labels randomly fails and causes an unhandled exception.
- The GetValue function (objStrHacker.GetValue strConfigKey, strConfigValue) gets "" when a value is over 128 characters in EV_WORK_ORDER table.
Other
- UDSSETIVARS fails to set I:Variables.
- When integrated with an external work order system, AUD does not disconnect from the database cleanly, causing an ODBC COM leak.
- In the Insert House Corner function, the first house corner is inserted correctly but as you continue to insert house corners, you are incorrectly prompted to specify attributes.

Issues Addressed for Autodesk Utility Design 2009 Update 1
Updates have been made in the following commands and features and the following defects have also been fixed:
Project Explorer
- Project Explorer now correctly accepts field length values greater than 256.
- It is no longer possible to delete the current open sheet.
- A defect prevented customized Project Explorer buttons from launching external programs. This has been corrected so customized tool buttons are supported in Project Explorer.
Voltage Drop
- The Voltage Drop/Flicker calculation has been restored to the version used in Autodesk Utility Design 2006.
- Fields have been added to the Voltage Drop Configuration dialog box to enable users to set maximum voltage drop and maximum flicker directly, without exiting AUD.
Pulling Tension
- The Pulling Tension report now supports the special characters & and < in assembly unit description fields.
UDSPROFILE
- UDSPROFILE correctly averages the ground contours to get a smooth transition.
Material Ordering
- The category hierarchy in the Edit Locations dialog box displays incorrectly if you create categories at the beginning of the predefined Part and Assembly categories. This issue has been corrected. The category hierarchy now displays correctly.
- In some cases AUD prompts for a location number when this number is already defined. This has been addressed. AUD now only prompts for a location number if I:DBLNUB is empty or specifies a duplicate of an existing location number.
- In some cases OSNAP was not being restored after UDSAUTOMAT.
Configuration
- Long I:Variable strings in AUDCONFIG are now truncated to the internal maximum string length and no longer cause a corruption of the .cfg file.
- Some errors in the UDSSETCFG command were corrupting the aud.cfg file.
- Some AUDCONFIG sections that were missing have been reintroduced.
- A defect that caused AUDCONFIG to corrupt custom labeling values in Facility tables that support labeling has been corrected.
- AUDCONFIG now allows users to create duplicate labels in Facility tables.
- Some combo boxes in the Facility tables in AUDCONFIG did not accept entry of an existing value.
- You can now copy and paste entire rows in Facility tables in AUDCONFIG.
- An issue with underscores in field names caused field lengths to be modified incorrectly in Edit Material Format configuration.
- AUDCONFIG now displays and writes I:Variables in the order they are set in the original schema.
Other
- Title Block attributes are correctly populated from an Oracle database EV_WORK_ORDER table as they are from the aud.mdb.
- An issue with layout tabs in the Create Map Book command has been addressed.
- An issue that prevented saving a drawing from a drawing template (dwt) has been addressed.
