Hardware XML Database Update |
The AutoCAD® Hardware Certification Database file contains the
latest data used to optimize graphics hardware performance in AutoCAD.

Who Should Download This
File?
You should download this file if:
- You
have new graphics hardware.
- You
have a new driver version for your graphics hardware in the graphics hardware
list.
- The
status of your graphics card has changed in the database. For example, if your
status has changed from Supported to Certified.
- Autodesk
or your graphics hardware vendor has resolved issues with your graphics
hardware.
The current version of the Hardware Certification Database is 17.2.0.3. If the local version of your database is
older than the current version, update your database.

Installation
Instructions
NOTE: You must have administrative privileges on
your Microsoft® Windows® operating system to complete the
installation process.
For AutoCAD 2009
based products
- Execute
3DConfig command.
- In
the resulting dialog, click on "Check for Updates". This will update your
Certified Hardware XML Database.
- If
a newer driver is available and you would like to install it, click on the
"Get Download Info" button on the dialog box displayed. You will be taken to
the AutoCAD Certified Hardware List page(
http://www.autodesk.com/autocad-graphicscard ) with all the available
drivers for your card displayed.
- Review
the drivers, download the latest certified driver by
clicking on the corresponding blue arrow icon.
For AutoCAD 2008,
AutoCAD 2007 based products - To install the Certified
Hardware XML Database
- Verify
the version of your Certification Database file.
- Start
your Autodesk application.
- Execute
the 3DCONFIG command.
- In
the Adaptive Degradation and Performance Tuning dialog box, click the View
Tune Log button.
- At
the top of the tune log will be the following text: "Version: x.x.x.x" where
x.x.x.x is the version number.
- If
the version is older than 17.2.0.3 then
proceed with this installation.
- Close
all Autodesk applications.
- Find
the AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml file located in the DRV folder of
your product. For example, c:\program files\AutoCAD 2007\DRV.
- Right-click
AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml and rename it as AdskHwCertificationDatabase.bak.
- Double-click
AdskHwCertificationDatabase.zip.
- Extract
AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml to the DRV folder.
- Restart
your Autodesk application.
NOTE: To revert to the old database, delete the
new AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml file that you
downloaded to the product install folder and restore the file you renamed in
Step 4 to its original name.
