- Error 1722 maybe encountered when installing
WSE 3.0. To avoid this, you can first install ".NET Framework Runtime 2.0"
from \3rdParty\x86\NET\2\NetFx20.exe or \3rdParty\x64\NET\2\NetFx20.exe under your USB or EF file.
-
We recommend you install all products at once in Factory Design Suite. If
you install Factory Design Utilities after Inventor has been installed, please make sure that Factory Utilities is checked in the Sub-Components.
-
If AutoCAD Mechanical 2013 or AutoCAD Architecture 2013 is previously installed and
then run Factory Design Suite installation, the install path will be gray
and can't be modified.
-
The Factory Design Suite uninstaller does not uninstall Autodesk Cloud Sync; it must be uninstalled from the Control Panel.
-
If installing Vault 2013 client and add-ins as part of a suite, Vault add-ins may not be installed to AutoCAD Architecture. To resolve the issue, select Uninstall/Change for the Vault client in Control Panel -> Programs and Features, then select Add or Remove features in the Vault client install, and re-select the add-ins that need to be installed.
-
By default, only the Factory Design Suite LaunchPad shortcut is added to the desktop during installation. If you wish to include desktop shortcuts for the products that you install, you should enable them manually in the configuration options for each product. Alternatively, you can create these shortcuts manually after installation, by control-dragging the shortcut item from the Start menu.

For Ultimate, Premium and Standard Editions
- If Inventor or AutoCAD Mechanical/AutoCAD Architecture hangs after launch, you can terminate the Adsync.exe, AdCloudMananger.exe, and AcSettingSync.exe processes in Task Manager and then launch the application again.
- In AutoCAD Architecture, station tooltips will not display when you open a saved 2d layout.
- Not being able to REDO after an UNDO is a
known problem with Factory Commands in AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD Mechanical.
- If you use ESC to cancel a selection for a station containing more than one geometry, it may not be possible to select the entire station afterward.
- When using Vault with AutoCAD Mechanical and AutoCAD Architecture, if you get a previous version of a 2D layout that's already open in AutoCAD, the contents of the Factory browsers could be lost. Close and reopen the layout to restore them.
-
The ability to install additional language packs, and switch between installed languages, has been implemented only to a limited extent within the Factory Design Suite. We recommend that you install the desired language when you install the Suite. Specifically, the following limitations/known issues apply:
o The Factory tab in the AutoCAD Mechanical or AutoCAD Architecture ribbon will not be completely loaded unless you have installed the language pack of Factory Design Suite that corresponds to the active language pack of AutoCAD.
o The Factory Suite Help, What's New, and Asset Builder Guide content will
be displayed in the most recently installed language for Factory Design
Suite, regardless of the active language of the host application.
o There may be issues during Factory Asset publishing, related to assets containing variants, if you install and activate a secondary language after initial Factory Design Suite installation.
o For certain languages, in which the locale settings utilize comma as the decimal point separator, there may be issues when synchronizing asset chains to Inventor. A hotfix DL18815409 has been created to address this issue, and is available on the Autodesk support site.
For Ultimate and Premium Editions
- When you Sync to Inventor with a DWG containing Cloud Asset Chain, please ensure the Cloud Asset Chain has been downloaded.
- If Vanilla AutoCAD is installed and also it is launched or it was last one closed, when you Sync AutoCAD from Inventor, the
corresponding 2D layout will be generated in AutoCAD. Since there are no Factory Design Utilities for AutoCAD, you can't process further functionalities of
Factory.
- 2D Layout created in AutoCAD Mechanical can't be
scaled when you change the unit, so when you sync to Inventor, you will see the populated 3D Assets are not matching to DWG Overlay.
- If you run Factory Design Suite on certain non-English locales, commas will be not recognized as decimal point.
- If you need to check in a layout that contains pits to Vault, please set Material Library in Inventor Project.
- When you check in a published Asset, the corresponding DWG is not checked in automatically.
- If you are working with a DWG created in Factory Design Suite 2012, before you Sync to Inventor, please make sure to first replace outdated Assets like Guard Rail.
- With a DWG including stations, after reposition the assets which have been defined as stations and then Sync to AutoCAD, you need to move the base point onto the station manually.
- DWG files generated in AutoCAD Architecture by the Sync to AutoCAD or Create/Update DWG commands may have different units than the Inventor layout. You can adjust the units manually using the UNITS command.
- Please make sure Factory Layout template to be selected when you demote a layout containing assets to be a sub-Assembly.
- If you are republishing an asset with variants that has been previously placed into a 2D layout, you may need to manually modify the block name for the variant before placing it into that layout.
- When accessing Autodesk 360 Optimization for Autodesk Inventor and using Network licensing, sign out of Autodesk 360 before accessing the service. Sign into Autodesk 360 again when prompted. For more information see
TS18814536.
