You can now export clips as H.264 in a QuickTime file. Together with this features comes H.264 codec profiles, making it easy for you to create an H.264 output.

It is now possible to import AAF file generated by Avid Media Composer 6.
Import: Support for Apple Final Cut Pro X Sequences
It is now possible to import a sequence exported from Apple Final Cut Pro X (version 10.0.3) as an XML.
The best way to know how the timeline will look in Flame is to export the timeline to XML, and then import it back in Final Cut Pro X.

Import: Support for CMX EDL Long Tape Names
Flame now supports the import of CMX EDL with tape names longer than 8 characters (AVID 16 and AVID 32), through Clip Library > Video I/O > Import EDL.
Support for ARRIRAW Look Files
Version 4 of the ALEXA Software Update Packet enables a Look-creation workflow.
In this workflow, a Look is created in the ARRI Look Creator application. The Look information is then either embedded in the source files during the shoot, or saved as a look file. In both cases, the Look data can be enabled or disabled from the Import Preferences menu.
To use a Look created in the ARRI Look Creator application with ARRIRAW media:

Support for RED Magic Motion for HDRx
Flame now supports the RED-provided Magic Motion algorithm. Magic Motion is a blending algorithm used to composite tracks A and X of an HDRx clip, and is set in Colour > HDRx Settings. That same menu also offers an option to use the option set by RMD file.
New Image Orientation Option for R3D Clips
In version 2011 Extension 1, image orientation set in RED cameras was automatically applied to the imported R3D media files; you could not change the orientation of the image when importing it in Flame.
With this new version of Flame, you can now set image orientation (Flip/Flop) from the application. The image orientation can, as any other import settings, be set either at the time of the import, or later using Import History.
The Flip Settings menu is found in the Clip Library: set File I/O > Import Preferences > Format to R3D, and then open Metadata.
