The imperial_tutorials_aca2008.zip file contains two types of files that you will use to complete the AutoCAD Architecture 2008 Imperial tutorials: datasets and tutorial documentation. The tutorial datasets include all of the drawings and project files used in the tutorials, and are contained in the following files: - Drawing Compare_I.exe - House01_I.exe - Small_Office Building_I.exe - Small_Residence_I.exe - Steel-framed Residence_I.exe These files are set up to automatically extract to c:\My Documents\Autodesk\My Projects. The tutorial documentation is contained in Imperial_CHM_and_PDF.exe. The documentation is available in Help format (CHM) and in PDF format. The EXE file is set up to automatically extract to c:\Program Files\AutoCAD Architecture 2008\Help. Note: If you are running Windows Vista, you must be an administrator in order to extract the tutorial files. You will need to specify the following extraction locations since these are not set up automatically: - c:\My Documents\Autodesk\My Projects (for tutorial datasets) - c:\Program Files\AutoCAD Architecture 2008\Help (for tutorial CHM and PDF files) Follow these steps to download and extract the tutorial datasets and help files to your hard drive: 1. Minimize AutoCAD Architecture 2008 if it is open and close the Help if it is open. 2. Download and save imperial_tutorials_aca2008.zip to your hard drive. 3. From your hard drive, double-click imperial_tutorials_aca2008.zip and click Extract to save the contents to a folder of your choice. 4. To extract the datasets from the folder you indicated above, double-click the tutorial dataset you want to extract, such as Drawing Compare_I.exe. Use the default path for the Unzip to folder location: c:\My Documents\Autodesk\My Projects. If the correct path is not shown, enter c:\My Documents\Autodesk\My Projects. 5. Click Unzip. A message indicates the number of files that were unzipped. These files were extracted to c:\My Documents\Autodesk\My Projects. Note: The Windows default location for My Documents is c:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents. 6. Click OK in the message box, and then click Close. 7. To extract the tutorial documentation from the folder you indicated above, double-click Imperial_CHM_and_PDF.exe. Use the default path for the Unzip to folder location: c:\Program Files\AutoCAD Architecture 2008\Help. If the correct path is not shown, enter c:\Program Files\AutoCAD Architecture 2008\Help. 8. Click Unzip. A message indicates the number of files that were unzipped. These files were extracted to c:\Program Files\AutoCAD Architecture 2008\Help. Note: Extracting the tutorial CHM files to this location adds the tutorials to the online Help system. The printable PDF version is also available at the same location. 9. Click OK in the message box, and then click Close. 10. Restore AutoCAD Architecture 2008. You can now access the tutorial from the Help by clicking Help menu > Tutorials.
