Installing Autodesk Inventor Full Help 2012

Download and run inventor_full_help_2012.exe.
The Inventor Full Help installs by default to: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2012\Help_Full.

NOTE: The Full help will be available within Autodesk Inventor when you are working offline. When you are online, you will access help from the Wiki.

Important information

Standalone Installation

If you change the default install location (which is C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2012\Help_Full), you must create a registry entry with the full path where the Full Help is located. The registry entry must be created in the following location with the following values:

Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion16.0

Key: HELP_FULL

String: [Path to the Full Help]

Example: C:\MyInventorHelp\

Attention CAD/IT Managers: How to deploy Inventor 2012 Full help as part of a deployment

Preparation:

• Create an Inventor 2012 deployment image
• Download the Full Help from: http://www.autodesk.com\inventor-help-download

To deploy Autodesk Inventor 2012 Full Help as a part of Inventor deployment:

1. After creating a deployment image, create a new folder called Full Help as a subfolder to the AdminImage folder:

\\your_server_location\your_shared_location\your_deployment_name\AdminImage\FullHelp\

2. Copy inventor_full_help_2012.exe to the AdminImage\FullHelp folder

3. Open the [Deployment Name].INI file (which is located at: \\your_server_location\your_shared_location\your_deployment_name\AdminImage ) and perform the following:

1. under the [INVENTOR] section, add FULLHELP to POSTREQUISITE=GRANTA as follows:

POSTREQUISITE=GRANTA;FULLHELP

2. At the end of the [Deployment Name].INI file, add the following lines:

[FULLHELP]

PLATFORM=NATIVE

PRODUCT_NAME=Autodesk Inventor 2012 Full Help

EXE_PATH=FullHelp\inventor_full_help_2012.exe

EXE_PARAM=-s -a -s

ACTION=INSTALL

Important: When you create the deployment image, if you change the default Inventor install location (which is C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2012), you must create an entry in the registry in the following location with the following values:

Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion16.0

Key: HELP_FULL

String: [Path to the Full Help]

Example: D:\MyCompanyHelpLocation

Distribute the registry entry to users who needs access to the Full Help.
