Autodesk, Inc.
In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, this Service Pack 2 for Autodesk Inventor 2010 fixes or addresses a
variety of issues. This file highlights how to install the service pack, what is fixed, known issues with uninstall and how to
download the update.
    - Install only the bit-type version of Autodesk Inventor 2010 Service Pack 2 that corresponds
to the bit-type version of your installation of Autodesk Inventor 2010 Service Pack 1.

    - If you have previously installed the Subscription Advantage Pack for Autodesk Inventor 2010,
ensure you choose the correct bit-type version of Autodesk Inventor 2010 Subscription Advantage Pack Service Pack 2.

    - For deployed installations, append the Service Pack to your existing deployment image
rather than merge it. This is the suggested behavior for all service pack releases. Additionally, update a
deployment image on the same bit-type machine as the final installation from that image.

For more information on Network Deployments, see the Network Administrators Guide. For access, insert the
AutoCAD Inventor 2010 Disk 1 into your DVD drive and in the installer, click Read The Documentation.
    - For Network Licenses: When Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical run on the same computer,
they share a network license. Starting with the 2010 release, the Inventor license type is automatically elevated
to Inventor Routed Systems, Simulation, or Professional as commands are executed. However, this feature did not
simultaneously elevate the AutoCAD Mechanical license. With Service Pack 2, AutoCAD Mechanical continues to share
the Inventor license as it is elevated through the network license cascading sequence. To return to the base-level
license for Inventor or AutoCAD Mechanical, exit and restart the product.

    - Have the original installation disc or network image readily accessible. During
installation, or uninstallation, sometimes a prompt displays for the original installation disc or network image.

    - There are no Client Updates associated with this service pack release.

    - Autodesk Inventor 2010 Installer does not support installing Autodesk Inventor 2010
Service Pack 2 through the Install/Deployment Configuration Wizard.

    - For AutoCAD Inventor Tooling Suite 2010 user only: Autodesk Inventor 2010
Service Pack 1 is the prerequisite of Autodesk Inventor Tooling Service Pack 1. If you want to
install Autodesk Inventor Tooling Service Pack 1, please download and install it before
installing Autodesk Inventor 2010 Service Pack 2 or Autodesk Inventor 2010 Subscription Advantage Pack Service Pack 2.

Known Service Pack 2 Un-Installation Issues
When you un-install Autodesk Inventor 2010 Service Pack 2, or Autodesk Inventor 2010 Subscription Advantage Pack Service Pack 2,
all UI Ribbon and/or Application Options customizations will be lost.
To maintain your customizations and personalized options perform the following sets of operations, as Administrator on your
system, starting before you uninstall Service Pack 2.
    - Manually locate the files which maintain the UI Ribbon customizations (one RibbonUICustomization.xml file per
user profile) and make separate, independent, copies of the file for each user profile. This file, for each user of a system, as defined
by each user variable, is located at:

         - Windows 7 & Vista: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Inventor 2010

         - Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Autodesk\Autodesk Inventor 2010

    - If you do NOT have the Subscription Advantage Pack for Autodesk Inventor 2010 installed, you also should perform
	the following operation:

          - Access the Registry Editor (Start > Run and type regedit) and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion14.0.

	  - Save this registry (to a .reg file in a central location) by right clicking on the item, selecting Export from the menu, and providing a unique file name.

    - You can now safely uninstall Autodesk Inventor 2010 Service Pack 2 or Autodesk Inventor 2010 Subscription Advantage Pack Service Pack 2.

    - Once the uninstallation of Service Pack 2 is complete, your customizations and personalized options can be restored by performing the
	following operations:

	  - Each RibbonUICustomization.xml file should now be manually restored to its original location, per the paths defined by the user variables.

          - If the Registry was saved in step 2. above, restore the original Application Options by simply double-clicking on the .reg file generated.
