In a continuing effort to speed install time for our customers, Autodesk has released Autodesk Inventor
Professional 2013 with a subset of the Mold Design Metric Desktop Content library. This subset of the Inventor Mold Design
Metric Desktop Content library includes all components necessary for the Mold Design Samples and Tutorials.
Additionally, Autodesk Vault 2013 products also provide a subset of the Mold Design Metric Remote Content
library which contains the same components as the subset Desktop content library.
The three complete Mold Design Desktop & Remote Content libraries are provided separately via download for
Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013 Mold Design. These content libraries contain all available Mold Design content.
Contents
- The six complete Mold Design content libraries, for Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013 Mold Design, can be
downloaded from the Autodesk Inventor 2013
Updates & Service Packs site.
- Any combination of the desktop content or remote content libraries can be installed: Metric/mm, Imperial/Inch, or
Meusburger.
- The subset and complete versions of the Mold Design Metric Content Library have the same filename and cannot be
installed at the same time. Follow the instructions below to ensure the subset file is removed prior to
installing the full version.

Before installing the Mold Design content libraries for Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013, ensure you have the
following installed according to your usage of content libraries:
Inventor Desktop Content
- Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013.
- Content Center Libraries for Inventor Desktop Content.

The subset of the Mold Design Metric Desktop Content Library was included with the installation of Autodesk Inventor
Professional 2013 Mold Design and the corresponding Remote subset library was installed with Autodesk Vault 2013.
To install the complete version libraries for Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013 Mold Design these subset libraries
must be removed. Execute the following instructions based upon your usage of the content libraries:
Inventor Desktop Content
- Download the desired Mold Design Desktop Content Libraries:
ai2013_inventor_mold_metric_desktop.exe
ai2013_inventor_mold_imperial_desktop.exe
ai2013_inventor_mold_meusburger_desktop.exe
- Ensure no Autodesk applications are running on your system.
- Obtain the Inventor Desktop Content installation directory:
- Start Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013.
- Access Tools > Application Options > Content Center.
- Make a note of the Inventor Desktop Content installation directory as listed in the Location of Libraries field.
- Shutdown Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013.
- To ensure the complete Desktop Content Library can be installed, the existing .idcl file should be removed.
- Open a Windows Explorer window and browse to the Inventor Desktop Content installation directory obtained above.
- If file AI2012_Inventor Mold Metric.idcl exists (the subset Metric library file) and you plan on replacing it with
the complete version, manually delete it or move it to a side folder.
- To install each complete Mold Design Desktop Content Library separately, double-click on the downloaded
self-extracting executable file:
- When prompted, browse to the Desktop Content installation location obtained above and unzip.
- For each library, this may take several minutes.
- When Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013 is next started, select the library you need to access by selecting
Manage > Projects > Configure Content Center Libraries.

Inventor Remote Content - Autodesk Vault Server
- Download the desired Mold Design Remote Content Libraries:
ai2013_inventor_mold_metric_remote.exe
ai2013_inventor_mold_imperial_remote.exe
ai2013_inventor_mold_meusburger_remote.exe
- To ensure the complete Remote Content Library can be installed, the existing subset Metric library should be removed.
- Start Autodesk Data Management Server Console 2013.
- If the AI2013_Inventor Mold Metric library exists (the subset Metric library file) and you plan on replacing it with
the complete version, Detach or delete it.
- Open a Windows Explorer window and browse to the Inventor Remote Content installation directory.
- If files AI2012_Inventor Mold Metric.mdf & AI2012_Inventor Mold Metric_log.ldf still exist (the subset Metric library
files) manually delete them form the server.
- To install each complete Mold Design Desktop Content Library separately, double-click on the downloaded
self-extracting executable file:
- When prompted, browse to the Vault library database files installation location and unzip.
- For each library, this may take several minutes.
- Attach the newly unzipped Remote content libraries in Autodesk Data Management Server 2013.
- When Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013 is next started, select the library you need to access by selecting
Manage > Projects > Configure Content Center Libraries
