Downloading and Updating IPv6 Support Files

You must already have the Autodesk Network License Manager installed in order to apply the IPv6 Support update. If you do not already have the Autodesk Network License Manager installed on your server, refer to the Network Licensing Guide in the Help system for installation instructions.

To download the IPv6 Support software

Before you can perform any system maintenance on your license server, including updates, you must stop the license server. When you have completed the update, you must restart the license server.

• Download the nlmipv6support_mac32.tar.gz file to your desktop.

To stop the Network License Server

1. Open a Terminal window and navigate to the Autodesk Network License Manger file folder (containing the files lmutil, lmgrd, and adskflex).
2. In that folder, enter the following command to stop the Network License Server:

./lmutil lmdown –c @hostname –q –all –force

If you don’t know the host name, entering the following in Terminal to locate the name of each server you plan to use:

lmutil lmhostid-hostname

 To update the Autodesk Network License Manager for IPv6

1. Do one of the following to extract the IPv6 Support File in your folder:
   • Double-click the archive file to extract it into the current folder.
   • Enter the following in Terminal: tar –zxvf nlmipv6support_mac32.tar.gz.
2. Replace the original Autodesk Network License Manager file with the newly extracted file.

To restart the Network License Server

1. Open a Terminal window and navigate to the Autodesk Network License Manger file folder (containing the files lmutil, lmgrd, and adskflex).
2. In that folder, enter the following command to start the Network License Server:

./lmgrd –c license_file_list –I debug_log_path

Note: It is recommended to start lmgrd with a non-root user. If you must start lmgrd with a root user, enter the following to run lmgrd as a non-privileged user:

su username ./lmgrd –c license_file_list –I debug_log_path (where username is a non-privileged user).

Feature Limitations and Notes

Platform

• Autodesk Network License Manager IPv6 support is only enabled on 32-bit platforms for Mac OS X.
