Redundant License Server Hotfix

This hotfix repairs a problem with the configuration of the redundant license server causing servers to stop when the master server has been changed twice.

Description of Problem

Changing the master server twice in redundant server configuration causes a problem with redundancy and stops all servers.

To install the Redundant License Server Hotfix

You must have administrative privileges on your Microsoft Windows operating system to complete this installation process.

You must uninstall the current Network License Manager on all three servers before installing the Redundant License Server Hotfix.

To uninstall the current Network License Manager on all three servers:

  1. Launch current version of LMTOOLS.
  2. On the Start/Stop/Reread tab, click Stop Server.
  3. Close LMTOOLS.
  4. On the Windows Start menu, click Settings > Control Panel.
  5. In the Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs, select the Autodesk Network License Manager, and click Remove.

To install the Redundant License Server Hotfix:

  1. Download the FLEXSRV_install.zip file and extract the files to a temporary folder; for example c:/Temp.
  2. Locate Setup.exe in the temporary folder and double click on it.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  4. After installation is complete, launch LMTOOLS.
  5. On the Start/Stop/Reread tab, click Start Server.

NOTE: This procedure can be performed without affecting users who are running the software, provided it is completed within a reasonable amount of time (15-20 minutes). However, during this time users will be unable to acquire licenses. If this interruption is unacceptable, perform this upgrade when users will not need to acquire licenses.
