======================================================= Notice to Productstream Compass 5 Customers ======================================================= In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released Productstream Compass 5 Service Pack 1a, which fixes or addresses a variety of issues pertaining to Productstream Compass 5. This README file highlights how to install the Service Pack, what has been fixed, and how to download the update. This Service Pack 1a includes Service Pack 1 and Hotfix 1 and replaces Service Pack 1. ================================================================================ CONTENTS ========= - Installation Instructions - Summary of issues addressed by this Service Pack - Service Pack Download Location ================================================================================ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ========================= NOTE: This Service Pack Update only applies to the Productstream Compass 5 Client and Server product (Version 5.6.0.x). NOTE: Autodesk strongly recommends backing up the Productstream Compass installation PRIOR to installing this Service Pack To install this Service Pack: (1) Download the Productstream Compass 5 Service Pack 1a file "PSCompass_5_SP1a.zip" (2) Extract the files to a temporary folder. (3) To install the Service Pack files for the Productstream Compass 5 Server and Client (3.1) Locate the file "Productstream Compass 5 Service Pack 1.exe" in the folder "Service Pack 1". (3.2) Double-click on the file "Productstream Compass 5 Service Pack 1.exe" to begin installing the Service Pack. (3.3) Follow the instructions. (3.4) The Productstream Compass Client will be updated automatically, when the Client is started the first time after the update. Ensure that the appropriate rights are available for the user. Otherwise the Client Setup has to be started manually with the appropriate rights. (4) To install the Service Pack for the Productstream Compass Replicator (4.1) Locate the file "Productstream Compass Replicator.zip" in the folder "Modules\Productstream Compass Replicator". Extract it to a temporary folder. (4.2) Follow the instructions that are described in the manual CMPReplicator_.pdf (5) To install the Service Pack for the Productstream Compass Classification. (5.1) Locate the file "setup.exe" in the folder "Modules\Productstream Compass Classification" (5.2) Double-click on the file "setup.exe" (5.3) Follow the instructions. For further installation details see the specific installation instructions contained in the Productstream Compass 5 Release. (6) To install the Service Pack for the Productstream Compass Access Control Manager (6.1) Locate the file "COMPASS Access Control Manager.zip" in the folder "Modules\Productstream Compass Access Control Manager\SQL Server Version and/or Oracle Version". Extract it to a temporary folder. (6.2) Follow the instructions that are described in the manual CMPACM_.pdf for SQL Server Version and/or ACM-Installation.pdf for Oracle Version (only german). (7) To install the Service Pack for the Productstream Compass Webserver (7.1) Backup and uninstall your existing Productstream Compass Webserver (7.2) Locate the file "setup.exe" in the folder "Modules\Productstream Compass Webserver\. (7.3) Double-click on the file "setup.exe". (7.4) Follow the instructions. For further installation details and settings see the specific installation instructions contained in the Productstream Compass 5 Release. (8) To verify the Productstream Compass 5 Service Pack 1a was installed successfully, update the client installations and open the about dialog on a client. If Service Pack 1a is installed it will have a version of 5.6.1.0. ========================================================================================== Summary of issues addressed in Productstream Compass 5 Service Pack 1a include: ========================================================================================== For a summary of issues fixed with this Service Pack please see the Release Notes. These files are located in the doc. folder on the Productstream Compass Server and in the folder Documentation within the Service Pack package. Service Pack 1a (Service Pack 1 and Hotfix 1) additionally address the following issues: a) Under certain circumstances the Compass executable could crash or abort unexpectedly. Compass is now more robust against abnormal configuration. An Example for such circumstances is: unconventional position numbering for columns of list views b) The menu function "Change Status" did not always change the status of all documents in a marked list of documents (multiselection) but stopped prematurely. This problem was fixed in Compass_Server.DLL c) When a user entered data for a datasheet the entered data could be deleted before the user had a chance to save his work. This behaviour was fixed in AIMDatasheet.DLL. d) There have been performance issues in displaying a large list of entries in the combined view for trees and lists. Therefore AIMTreeList.DLL was improved. e) With Productstream Compass 5 and also in Service Pack 1 an obsolete version of the report module was installed. This resulted in not being able to generate reports in some file formats.
