======================================================= Notice to Productstream Compass 5 Customers ======================================================= In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released this Hotfix for Productstream Compass 5 Service Pack 1a, which fixes or addresses a variety of issues pertaining to Productstream Compass 5 and the additional Service Pack 1a. This README file highlights how to download and install the HotFix and what has been fixed. ================================================================================ CONTENTS ========= - Installation Instructions - Summary of issues addressed by this HotFix - HotFix Download Location ================================================================================ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ========================= NOTE: This HotFix only applies to Productstream Compass 5 Client and Server products that are already updated with Productstream Compass 5 Service Pack 1a (Version 5.6.1.0, 2006-07-19). For Productstream Compass 5 installations without Service Pack (Version 5.6.0.x) please DO NOT USE this HotFix but download and install Productstream Compass 5 Service Pack 1a first which is also available on the Autodesk Download Site at http://www.autodesk.com NOTE: Autodesk strongly recommends backing up the Productstream Compass installation PRIOR to installing this HotFix To install this HotFix: (1) Download the Productstream Compass 5 HotFix 2 file "PSCompass_5_SP1a_HotFix2.zip". (2) Make a backup copy of your Productstream Compass Server subdirectory Client and of all the files explicitly mentioned in (3). (3) Extract the files of the downloaded ZIP directly to the Productstream Compass Server root directory allowing overwrite of existing files and using folder names. The files curlevel.INI, etc\\invt.TEX (4 languages), etc\DocTypeIDW.DBQ, bonus\dbp\DocTypeIDW.DBP, and the contents of subdirectory Client will be replaced. (4) The Productstream Compass Clients will be updated automatically, when any of the Clients is started the first time after the update of the Compass Server. Ensure that the appropriate rights are available for the user. Otherwise the Client Setup has to be started manually with the appropriate rights. (5) To verify successful installation of Productstream Compass 5 Service Pack 1a and HotFix 2, please update the client installations and open the about dialog on a client. The dialog should show Version 5.6.1.0 and the date September 11th, 2006. ========================================================================================== Summary of issues addressed in Productstream Compass 5 HotFix 2 include: ========================================================================================== For a summary of issues fixed with Service Pack 1a please see the Release Notes and the accompanying ReadMe file. These files are located in the doc. folder on the Productstream Compass Server and in the folder Documentation within the Service Pack package. HotFix 2 additionally addresses the following issues: a) Under certain circumstances the Compass executable could crash or abort unexpectedly. These abnormal exits were mainly caused when the preview window is active. Compass is now more robust in this regard. (Affected files: AIMPreviewIEview.dll, AIMSplitter.DLL, AIMPreviewContainer.DLL, Compass.EXE) b) With an active preview register CPU load was extremely high at times, using Shortcut-Keys within DWF preview lead to a non-responding Compass. Fixed with the new AIMPreviewIEview.dll and AIMPreviewContainer.DLL. c) The behaviour of selection lists (Combobox) of filter dialogs was corrected and unwanted log messages of filter settings have been suppressed. (AIMList.DLL, AIMCRCList.DLL, AIMTreeList.DLL, Compass.EXE) d) There have been performance issues in displaying a large list of entries in the combined view for trees and lists, e.g. Project Structures or structured BOMs. Therefore AIMTreeList.DLL was improved. e) The internal function ___ReadRecInfo has been fixed to function properly. (Compass_Server.DLL) f) Structured BOMs are now in numerical order when sorting is supposed to follow the values in column Position. (AIMTreeList.DLL) g) the AutoCAD LT 2007 interface was only functional for the English version. The interface can now be used with localized versions (French, Italian, German) as well. (AIMD_lt2007.DLL) h) When copying document types IAM which are referenced from IDW and also have an associated IPN, the new IDW was not created correctly. Fixed in DoctypeIDW.DBP/DBQ. i) In the Inventor integration the behaviour of the functions "Update Document", "Update Properties", and "Open" has been improved - unwanted messages do not appear any more respectively the user may specify "Yes to all".
