AutoCAD 2012 Performance Slowdown Hotfix

Description of Problem

This hotfix is suitable for all AutoCAD 2012 verticals and will fix the slowdown caused by the layer control update available in the ribbon.

Installation Instructions

To Install this hotfix:

You must have administrative privileges on your Microsoft^® Windows^® operating system to complete the installation process.

This installation requires you to replace the following files:

• acbol.dll

• Acmgd.dll

To replace the acbol.dll and Acmgd.dll files

1. Close all software applications.
2. Navigate to your product installation folder; for example C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD Structural Detailing 2012 - English.
3. Rename the affected original files:
   
   • In the product installation folder, right-click the acbol.dll file and rename it acbol.bak
   • In the product installation folder, right-click the Acmgd.dll file and rename it Acmgd.bak
4. Depending on the operating system (32 or 64-bit), double click the file:
   
   • AutoCAD2012_PerformanceSlowdown_HF_32bit.zip

   OR

   • AutoCAD2012_PerformanceSlowdown_HF_64bit.zip
5. Extract acbol.dll and Acmgd.dll files to the product installation folder; for example C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD Structural Detailing 2012 - English.
