Certified Hardware XML Database Update

The AutoCAD® Hardware Certification Database file contains the latest data used to optimize graphics hardware performance in AutoCAD.

Who Should Download This File?

You should download this file if:

The current version of the Hardware Certification Database is 18.0.0.8. If the local version of your database is older than the current version, update your database.


Affected Products

(1) Apply this update only if the installation includes AutoCAD Mechanical or Autodesk Mechanical Desktop.
(2) Apply this update only if the installation includes AutoCAD.
(3) Apply this update only if the installation includes AutoCAD MEP.


Installation Instructions

NOTE: You must have administrative privileges on your Microsoft® Windows® operating system to complete the installation process.

For AutoCAD 2009, and 2010 based products

  1. Execute 3DConfig command.
  2. In the resulting dialog, click on "Check for Updates". This will update your Certified Hardware XML Database.
  3. If a newer driver is available and you would like to install it, click on the "Get Download Info" button on the dialog box displayed. You will be taken to the AutoCAD Certified Hardware List page(http://www.autodesk.com/autocad-graphicscard) with all the available drivers for your card displayed.
  4. Review the drivers, download the latest certified driver by clicking on the corresponding blue arrow icon.

For AutoCAD 2008 based products - To install the Certified Hardware XML Database

  1. Verify the version of your Certification Database file.
  2. Close all Autodesk applications.
  3. Find the AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml file located in the DRV folder of your product. For example, c:\program files\AutoCAD 2008\DRV.
  4. Right-click AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml and rename it as AdskHwCertificationDatabase.bak.
  5. Double-click AdskHwCertificationDatabase.zip.
  6. Extract AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml to the DRV folder.
  7. Restart your Autodesk application.

NOTE: To revert to the old database, delete the new AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml file that you downloaded to the product install folder and restore the file you renamed in Step 4 to its original name.
