In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released this Service Pack 1 which resolves several issues.
Contents
This service pack resolves the following issues:
- Performance decreases in Alias 2012 when you have multiple layers.
- In the Trim Convert tool, even if Face Selection is turned ON in Selection Options, the tool fails to select in the interior of surfaces.
- Face Selection doesn’t support selection of shells.
- Crash: Untrim with Fit curve history.
- Crash: Reverse Curve after Fit Curve.
- Crash: Right mouse button Zoom in Object Based Tumble mode.
- Horizontal drag to twist works incorrectly in Object Based Tumble mode.
- Crash: Align with Vector and move boundary CVs.
- Curve Continuity with Information Window displays null rather than actual value.
- Crash: Unload and reload the Smooth tool in the Plug-in manager, then double-click the Smooth tool icon to see its option window.
- Camera will not Zoom unless it is first twisted or panned.
- Object Lister crashes during drag-and-drop.
- Unchecking the Create Flange check box does not remove the flange in the Fillet Flange and Tube Flange tools.
- Knee Ratio doesn’t work in the Fillet tool.
- Help > Report a Problem points to the Beta report problem location.
- Crash: Change surface side or gap side in the Panel Gap tool.
- Paint: Brush Preview is missing.
- Sometimes it is hard to select arrows in the Extend tool.
- The performance of LookAt for large models is slow.
- Hotkeys are not recognized if there are no modeling windows present.
- After creating a New stage, Visual State Shade settings cannot be applied on the model.
- Crash: Step forward/backward from the Fit curve tool in the Command Stepper (Mac).
- Show/Hide invisible icon in the SBD window disappears after resizing the SBD window.
- Turning on Bezier Surfaces in the Tube Flange tool creates multiple span surfaces.
Others
- Both Win32 and Win64 Alias now support SolidWorks 2010 and 2011 Part and Assembly files.
- Alias 2012 Service Pack 1 Mac edition now supports Mac OSX Lion (10.7).
- Alias 2012 Service Pack 1 Mac edition also includes Sketchbook Designer Service Pack 1.

- You must have administrator privileges on your local machine.
- Autodesk Alias 2012 must be installed.
To install Alias Service Pack 1 on Windows
- Download Service Pack 1 to a temporary directory on the workstation.
- Extract it to the temporary directory.
- Double-click to install Service Pack 1.

- You must have administrator privileges on your local machine.
- Note: No Service Pack 1 patch is available for Mac. It is a full install.
To install Alias Service Pack 1 on Mac
- Uninstall Alias 2012, if previously installed.
- Download Service Pack 1 to a temporary directory on the workstation.
- Extract it to the temporary directory.
- Double-click to install Alias 2012 with Service Pack 1, selecting the relevant options.
