In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1 (Client) and Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1 (Server) for Autodesk Vault 2010, Autodesk Vault Workgroup 2010, Autodesk Vault Collaboration 2010, and Autodesk Vault Manufacturing 2010 which fixes or addresses a variety of issues pertaining to those releases. This README file highlights how to install the Update, what has been fixed, and how to download the update.
DOWNLOAD LOCATION
Locate the Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1 file at:
INSTALLATION
- All clients and servers should be upgraded at the same time to the Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1
- Autodesk strongly recommends using the ADMS Console to backup all databases and necessary files PRIOR to installing this update.
The Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1 (Server) cannot be uninstalled. To uninstall user must uninstall Autodesk Vault 2010 Server.
- The Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1 (Server) includes Inventor's hotfix TS13733548 (required), which depends on one of the following:
- Inventor 2010 SP1 (x32-bit or x64-bit)
- Inventor 2010 Subscription Bonus Pack (x32-bit or x64-bit)
- All future Vault 2010 hotfixes will depend on this Update being installed
- Depending on how your UAC is configured on Windows Vista or later operating systems, user may need to turn off User Access Control (UAC) to install the Update
- This Update is not able to be added as part of a deployment image. This update must be installed manually
- If Autodesk Web Server (AWS) is installed, the service will be stopped to apply Update 1. The service will need to be manually started when the update completes
To install Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1 (Client):
- Download the AutodeskVault2010Update1.zip and extract file AutodeskVault2010Update1(Client).msp
- Double-click on AutodeskVault2010Update1(Client).msp file to begin installing the Update.
- To verify the Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1 (Client) was installed successfully, go to the Windows Start->Settings->Control Panel and open Add/Remove programs. Check the 'Show Updates' checkbox (in Windows XP). Find the Autodesk Vault 2010 entries and notice the 'Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1 (Client)' is listed.
To install Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1 (Server):
- Autodesk strongly recommends using the ADMS Console to backup all databases and necessary files after installing this update.
- On all workstations which use Inventor 2010 to access Vault, install one of the included Inventor 2010 hotfixes (TS13733548)
- On the ADMS server, download the AutodeskVault2010Update1.zip and extract file AutodeskVault2010Update1(Server).msp
- Double-click on AutodeskVault2010Update1(Server).msp file to begin installing the Update.
- To verify the Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1 (Server) was installed successfully, go to the Windows Start->Settings->Control Panel and open Add/Remove programs. Check the 'Show Updates' checkbox (in Windows XP). Find the Autodesk Vault 2010 entries and notice the 'Autodesk Vault 2010 Update 1 (Server)' is listed.
- In a multisite environment, go through above Server steps 3-5 for all Autodesk Data Management Server(ADMS) sites first.
- Then start a single ADMS Console session from any site (preferrably the site closest to the database) to upgrade to Autodesk Vault Update 1
- Autodesk strongly recommends using the ADMS Console to backup all databases and necessary files after installing this update.
SUMMARY OF ISSUES ADDRESSED
Roll-up of previously released hotfixes
- TS1109547 - Unable to move DWG files within Vault when they are linked to ECW raster files
- TS13589853 - When enabling the "Extract attribute prompt when available" option the Prompt is indexed. However, when the option is not selected, the TAG is not indexed following a Re-Index Properties operation.
- TS1108250 - This hotfix restores the Print and Markup options in the toolbar for the preview pane
- TS13465733 - The Change State command was improperly applying the Released Biased rules when checking if dependent files have been released. If the revision of the dependent file was previously released and is currently in a "Quick Change" state, the referencing file will now be able to be released.
- TS1103528 - Property Compliance incorrect to Inventor DWG files if mapping only exists on Inventor property
- TS13404365 - Web Client Advanced Search does not display file when property is mapped
- TS13855499 - (a)Improved performance of Release Item operations. (b)Item State Change Error (c)Cannot update items with released secondary children (d)Lost Detail ID (e)Item import changes decimal value
- TS1103487 - Properties are not being extracted in AWS installation. Property extraction is not successful when installing the product with Autodesk Web Server. This update is NOT required when installing the product utilizing IIS
Additional issues addressed
- Property related operations (such as Checkin, Property ReIndex) may stop responding as a result of application pool becoming automatically disabled in Windows 2008 operating system. This Update 1 addresses this operating system incompatibility
- Custom properties with white space do not get brought into Vault 2010 correctly
- Improved behavior of Copy Design of a substituted part resulting in the new part referencing the original derived assembly
- In a rare case a software license may not be released appropriately
- Reinstate the Locked File Icon for user visibility
- Files locked in a 2009 dataset, and then migrated to 2010, cannot be unlocked. Receive message "You do not have adequate permissions to perform this operation." ACL cannot be removed.
