Fit Dimensioning Hotfix

This hotfix repairs a problem in which Fit symbol does not display correctly after exiting the dimension in-place editor.

Description of Problem

When a drawing saved with a Japanese version of AutoCAD Mechanical 2011 is opened and edited in a English version of AutoCAD Mechanical 2011, Fit symbol does not display correctly after exiting the dimension in-place editor.

To install Fit Dimensioning Hotfix

You must have administrative privileges on your Microsoft® Windows® operating system to complete the installation process.

NOTE: This installation process requires you to modify an installed product, which may cause Windows security warnings to appear. For all Windows security warnings that appear during installation, click Continue.

  1. Close all software applications.
  2. Navigate to the folder where your product is installed, for example, C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ACADM 2011.
  3. In this folder, right-click acdb18.dll and select Properties.
  4. Click the Version tab and confirm the file version. Proceed with this installation only if the file is version 18.1.49.0.
  5. Right-click acdb18.dll and rename it acdb18.bak.
  6. Based on your product version, double-click on acdb18_x86.zip or acdb18_x64.zip and extract acdb18.dll to the folder specified in Step 2.
  7. Right-click the new acdb18.dll and select Properties. Confirm that this file is version 18.1.49.3.

NOTE: To remove this hotfix, delete the new acdb18.dll file that you downloaded to the folder specified in Step 2 and restore the file you renamed in Step 5 to its original name.
