In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released Productstream Compass 2005 Service Pack 2, which fixes or addresses a variety of issues pertaining to Productstream Compass 2005 and/or COMPASS 2005. This README file highlights how to install the service pack, what has been fixed, and how to download the update.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
=========================

NOTE: This service pack update only applies to the Productstream Compass 2005 and COMPASS 2005 V.1 client and server product.

NOTE: Autodesk strongly recommends backing up the Productstream Compass and/or COMPASS installation PRIOR to installing this service pack.


To install this service pack:
=============================

(1) Download the Productstream Compass 2005 Service Pack 2 file "PSCompass_2005_ServicePack2.zip" from http://www.autodesk.com

(2) Extract the files to a temporary folder.

(3) To install the service pack files for the Productstream Compass 2005 and/or COMPASS 2005 Server and Client  

	(3.1)	Locate the file "Productstream Compass 2005 Service Pack 2.exe" in the folder "Service Pack 2".
		
	(3.2)	Double-click on the file "Productstream Compass 2005 Service Pack 2.exe" to begin installing the service pack.

	(3.3)	Follow the instructions.

	(3.4)	The Client for Productstream Compass and/or COMPASS will be updated automatically, when the Client is started for the first time after the update. 
		Ensure that the appropriate rights are available for the user.

(4) To install the service pack for the Productstream Compass 2005 and/or COMPASS 2005 Replicator 

	(4.1)	Locate the file "Productstream Compass Replicator.zip" in the folder "Modules\Productstream Compass 2005 Replicator". Extract it to a temporary folder.

	(4.2)	Follow the instructions that are described in the manual CMPReplicator_<language>.pdf

(5) To install the service pack for the Productstream Compass 2005 Solid Works integration.

	(5.1)	Locate the file "Productstream Compass SP2 SolidWorks.exe" in the folder "Modules\Productstream Compass 2005 SolidWorks"
	
	(5.2)	Double-click on the file "Productstream Compass SP2 SolidWorks.exe" 

	(5.3)	Follow the instructions.

(6) To install the service pack for the Productstream Compass 2005 ProEngineer integration.

	(6.1)	Locate the file "Productstream Compass SP2 ProE.exe" in the folder "Modules\Productstream Compass 2005 ProEngineer"
	
	(6.2)	Double-click on the file "Productstream Compass SP2 ProE.exe" 

	(6.3)	Follow the instructions.


To install the Webserver:
=========================

If the Visual J# Redistributable Package is not already installed on the Webserver-Machine, it can be installed from here:
		
	(A)	Locate the file "vjredist.exe" in the folder "Modules\Webserver\Support\<language>".

	(B)	Double-click on the file "vjredist.exe" to begin installing the J# Redistributable Package.

	(C)	Follow the instructions.

(1) For Productstream Compass 2005 Webserver :

	(1.1)	Locate the file "Setup.exe" in the folder "Modules\Webserver\Productstream Compass 2005 Webserver\<language>".
		
		(1.1.1)	Double-click on the file "Setup.exe" to begin installing the Webserver.

		(1.1.2)	Follow the instructions.

	(1.2) For COMPASS 2005 Webserver:

		(1.2.1)	Locate the file "Setup.exe" in the folder "Modules\Webserver\Compass 2005 Webserver\<language>".
		
		(1.2.2)	Double-click on the file "Setup.exe" to begin installing the Webserver.

		(1.2.3)	Follow the instructions.




To verify the Productstream Compass 2005 Service Pack 2 was installed successfully, update the client installations and open the about dialog on a client. If Service Pack 2 is installed it will have a version of 5.5.2.14 or 5.5.1.24.
