Editing a cross section template now functions as expected. Changes made to
a cross section template now apply as expected to the selected station instead
of to the entire station range.
Who Should Install
these Service Packs?
The Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 Service Pack 1 and the Autodesk Civil 3D - Civil
Design Companion 2007 Service Pack 1 are for the English-language locked and
unlocked versions of Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 running on English-language
and non-English-language operating systems.
General
Installation Information
Important: You cannot run an automatic uninstall to remove either of
these service packs. To restore your version of Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 (or
Autodesk Civil 3D - Civil Design Companion 2007) to its pre-service pack state,
uninstall Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 (or Autodesk Civil 3D - Civil Design Companion
2007) and reinstall it.
Installation
Information for Side-By-Side Installs
If you have additional AutoCAD-based products installed on your computer, you
may need to apply additional service packs to ensure all the products continue
to work properly after you install the Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 Service Pack
1 (or the Autodesk Civil 3D - Civil Design Companion 2007 Service Pack 1).
These include the following service packs:
- AutoCAD 2007 SP1
- Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2007 SP1
- Autodesk Map 3D 2007 SP1
- Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 SP1A
For example, if you have Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 installed on the same computer
as Autodesk Civil 3D 2007, you must install both Autodesk Land Desktop 2007
Service Pack 1 and Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 Service Pack 1A to ensure both products
continue to work properly.
Windows
Command Line Switches
he Windows command line switches built into this service pack are as follows:
- /e - Extracts the MSP file from the service pack executable.
- /p - Extracts a patch list from the service pack executable.
- /q - Suppresses the completion message after the service pack is applied.
This is useful if you use a script or batch file to apply the service pack
to multiple computers.
Instructions about how to use these command line switches are included in the
procedures that follow.
Applying these Service Packs to a Stand-alone
Installation
- Download the Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 Service Pack 1 executable file
(LDT2007_SP1.exe) and save it to any folder.
- Insert your Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 product media into your media
drive.
- Navigate to the folder where you saved the service pack.
- Double-click the executable file for the service pack to install it.
- After successfully installing the Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 Service Pack
1, follow the same procedure above to install the Autodesk Civil 3D - Civil
Design Companion 2007 Service Pack 1. Make sure you install the Land Desktop
Service Pack 1 before installing the Autodesk Civil 3D - Civil Design Companion
2007 Service Pack 1.
Applying this Service Pack
Through Your Local Network Using a Patch List
Use this procedure if you want to use Communication Center to apply the
Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 Service Pack 1 through your local network.
NOTE: The Autodesk Civil 3D - Civil Design Companion 2007 Service
Pack 1 cannot be applied using the Communication Center.
To apply the Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 Service Pack 1 through
Communication Center using local patch list functionality
To configure a local patch list, follow the steps below.

Before performing this procedure, make sure that the following requirements
have been met on the machine that is used to do the local patch list
configuration:
- Land Desktop 2007 must be installed
- Current update (service pack) must not be applied to Land Desktop
2007
- CAD Manager Control Utility 4.0 must be installed

Launch the CAD Manager Control Utility.
-
For Product, choose Autodesk Land Desktop 2007.
-
On the Communication Center tab, choose "Receive Live Updates
from local network" from the look up list.

Browse to the shared folder that you will download the updates (this
service pack) to using UNC path. The patchlist.npl file will be created
automatically.

Select the Manage Patches button. (This will only work if the current
update\service pack has not yet been applied to Land Desktop 2007).
-
Set the action type to Add to patch folder by using the action type
icon and selecting the popup menu choice.
-
Select the Update patch folder. This will download the update\service
pack from the Autodesk server, and make it available for other users
to access from the defined location.

- At the bottom of the CAD Manager utility, in the drop-down list, select
"Create .reg registry file". Then click OK.
- In the Save As dialog box, save the file to your system. Make note of
this location.
- The registry file is now ready to be made available to users.
- Install Updates from the Communication Center in Land Desktop 2007.
NOTE: Once the registry changes have been applied to the client,
the Communication Center in Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 will alert the
users with a "Maintenance Update Available" notice. When the
user clicks on the notice, a page will be displayed that says "Autodesk
Live Update." This page contains instructions, a description of the
patch, and an "Update" button that will start the patch download
and install.
Applying this Service Pack to an Autodesk Land
Desktop 2007 Network Administrative Image
The following two methods of distributing Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 Service
Pack 1 apply only to administrative images created with the Autodesk Land
Desktop 2007 Deployment wizard. After you complete these procedures, any new
deployments of Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 will have the service pack applied
to them automatically.
NOTE: In both of the following procedures, the service pack
file that you download contains an MSP (Microsoft Patch) file. You must extract
that file from the executable file. To extract the MSP file from the executable,
use the /e ("extract") switch.
To add Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 Service Pack 1 to a new Autodesk
Land Desktop 2007 administrative image
- From the Autodesk Product Support website, download LDT2007_SP1.exe
to your local computer.
- On the Start menu (Windows), click Run. Enter the
following information, and then click OK to extract the MSP file.

drive>:\<patch name>\ /e <local drive>:\<patch name.msp>
- On the computer where you installed the Deployment wizard,
on the Start menu (Windows), click Programs > Autodesk > Deployment Wizard.
- In the Deployment wizard, on the Welcome page, select Create An Administrative
Image, and then click Next.
- On the Create Administrative Image page, in the Select Autodesk Installer
(MSI) File box, enter the path to ldt.msi, the MSI file you use as
the basis for your administrative image. This file is found on your product
media, in \BIN\Installer.
- In the Administrative
Image Location box, enter an existing shared network location where you want to
create an administrative image, or click Browse to navigate to a location.
- Select
the Apply A Patch (Service Pack) To This Image option.
- In the Select Patch
box, enter the path to the patch location (the location you entered in step 2,
including the extension .msp). You can also Browse to locate the MSP file.
- Click Next, and follow the instructions in the Deployment wizard to complete
the deployment of this service pack.
To apply Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 Service Pack 1 to an existing
Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 administrative image
- From the Autodesk Product Support website, download LDT2007_SP1.exe
to your local computer.
- On the Start menu (Windows),
click Run. Enter the following information, and then click OK to extract the MSP
file.
<local drive>:\<patch name>\ /e <local drive>:\<patch
name.msp>
- On the computer where you installed the Deployment
wizard, on the Start menu (Windows), click Programs > Autodesk > Deployment
wizard.
- In the Deployment wizard, on the Welcome page, select Modify An Administrative
Image, and then click Next.
- On the Modify Administrative Image page, in the
Select An MSI File box, select the existing Autodesk installer file (MSI) from
the shared network location that contains the administrative image you want to
modify.
- Select the Apply A Patch (Service Pack) To This Image option.
- In
the Select Patch box, enter the path to the patch location (the location you entered
in step 2, including the extension .msp). You can also Browse to locate
the MSP file.
- Click Next, and follow the instructions in the Deployment wizard
to complete the deployment of this service pack.
