Applying this Service Pack to an
AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion 2008 Network Administrative Image
The following two methods of distributing AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion
2008 Service Pack 2 apply only to administrative images created with the AutoCAD

Warning:
You cannot modify a deployment that already includes AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop
Companion 2008 Service Pack 1. Attempting to include AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop
Companion 2008 Service Pack 2 in a deployment that already has AutoCAD Civil 3D
Land Desktop Companion 2008 SP1 merged to it will result in the error message
"\\server_name\path\LDC2008_SP2.msp is not a valid patch for this product."
You must create a new deployment for AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion 2008
Service Pack 2.
NOTE: In both of the following procedures,
the service pack file that you download contains an MSP (Microsoft Patch) file.
You must extract that file from the executable file. To extract the MSP file from
the executable, use the /e ("extract") switch.

Issues
Resolved in AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion 2008 Service Pack 2
This Service Pack resolves the following issues:
-
An issue with creating section top surface breaklines has been resolved.
Cross
Sections
- The program no longer terminates unexpectedly
when sampling cross sections from a file.
- Editing design
control slopes no longer changes the defined station ranges of templates along
an alignment.
Points
- The program
no longer terminates unexpectedly when trying to close the Point Group Manager
after printing a point group list.
- An issue with not being
able to create point tables has been resolved.
Publishing
- The program no longer terminates unexpectedly when updating
a plot style and then publishing from Sheet Set Manager using Publish > Publish
Using Page Setup Override.
AutoCAD Civil
3D Land Desktop Companion 2008 Service Pack 1 resolves the following issues. The
resolution for these issues is included in this Service Pack 2.
An issue with annotation scaling
has been resolved. Now when you select a text style that supports annotation scaling
(such as Leroy_a.stp), the Annotative property is set to Yes, and the text scales
as expected.
The program no longer fails unexpectedly when using projects with long project
file names.
Editing Design Control using
the View/Edit Sections command no longer applies the template to the entire alignment
. Now it applies the template to only the selected station, as expected.
Labels
An issue with inserted blocks not displaying on point labels has been resolved.
Now when you insert a block into a point label style, and then create or insert
a point into a drawing, the block is displayed as expected for the point.
An issue with north, south, east, and west designators displayed for azimuth angle
labels has been resolved. Now azimuth angle labels do not display north, south,
east, and\or west designators.
An issue with
labels displaying spaces between north, south, east, and west designators has
been resolved.
An issue with labels (dynamic
and static) not displaying zeros for units less than ten has been resolved. For
example, instead of displaying units less than 10 as 9, 7, 5, labels now display
units less than 10 as 09, 07, 05 as expected.
An issue with dynamic labels resetting values after grip editing has been resolved.
Profiles
SHP Files

has been improved. All of your parcel polygons will now be exported when you
export SHP files. The Display Manager now displays all features on SHP layers.
Plotting
When plotting FDO raster layers, you can now expect an image
resolution comparable to that displayed in AutoCAD Raster Design regardless of
view scale. When plotting, you can now expect to see the same styles displayed
in Plot Preview as you will see in the actual printed result.
General Issues

files published in Map 3D 2008 will now be approximately the same size as those
published in Map 3D 2007. DGN import has been improved. You can now successfully
export a Map with joined data to a DWG file. The performance of SDF files
has improved by 20%. You can now successfully select a feature when the view
scale for a LAYER file is zoomed in all the way. You can now successfully
use the Zoom feature to view raster layers in Layout View. AutoCAD Blocks

text style in AutoCAD blocks in SDF layers will now display at the orientation
to which it is set. You can now successfully insert AutoCAD blocks with hatching
in the Display Manager. Style Editor
You can now successfully select
a new theme after editing a fill style. You can now successfully create themes
in SDF files with view scale information. Oracle Connections
You can
now export a DWG that is set to an arbitrary X-Y coordinate system without losing
your Oracle connection. You can now successfully check out or update Oracle
data that uses a foreign schema for a version-enabled table. API Users
Calling
the API function AcMapLayer.GetFeatureData(
) with valid entity IDs will
now return an MgFeatureReader with valid Identity properties for each Feature.
Calling the API function AcMapLayer.UpdateFeatures(
) with an MgInsertFeatures
command now properly returns an MgFeatureProperty with a type of MgPropertyType.Feature,
and with a value of an MgFeatureReader containing the IDs of newly-created features.
In addition, you must now use AcMapLayer.UpdateFeatures(
) instead of AcMapFeatureService.UpdateFeatures(
)
for all editing operations, including Insert, Update, Delete, Lock, and Unlock.
