Revit 2012 Hotfix
Description of Problem
This
hotfix improves performance when utilizing Sketch Grids within your project.

Installation Instructions
NOTE: You must have administrative privileges on your Microsoft®
Windows® operating system to complete the installation process.
NOTE: You must have Autodesk Revit 2012 Update 2 installed on
the system in order to apply this hotfix.
This
installation requires you to replace the following file:
- EssentialsDB.dll
- RevitDB.dll
To Install the Hotfix on a 32-bit system
- Close all software applications.
- Make sure the Autodesk Revit
2012 Update 2
is installed on the system.
- Navigate to your product installation folder; for
example C:\Program Files\Autodesk
Revit Architecture 2012\Program
- Rename the affected original
files.
- In the product installation Program folder,
right-click the EssentialsDB.dll
file and rename it EssentialsDB.bak.
- In the product installation Program folder,
right-click the RevitDB.dll
file and rename it RevitDB.bak
- Extract the Revit2012_SketchGrid_Hotfix.zip
to a shared folder.
- Copy the EssentialsDB.dll
and RevitDB.dll located in the
x86 folder to C:\Program
Files\Autodesk Revit Architecture 2012\Program
To Install the Hotfix on a 64-bit system
- Close all software applications.
- Make sure the Autodesk Revit
2012 Update 2
is installed on the system.
- Navigate to your product
installation folder; for example C:\Program
Files\Autodesk Revit Architecture 2012\Program
- Rename the affected original files.
- In the product installation Program folder,
right-click the EssentialsDB.dll
file and rename it EssentialsDB.bak.
- In the product installation Program folder,
right-click the RevitDB.dll
file and rename it RevitDB.bak
- Extract the Revit2012_SketchGrid_Hotfix.zip to a shared
folder.
- Copy the EssentialsDB.dll
and RevitDB.dll located in the
x64 folder to C:\Program
Files\Autodesk Revit Architecture 2012\Program
