SHP Import Export Hotfix
Thank you for downloading the SHP Import Export Hotfix.
This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and
use of this hotfix. We recommend that you read this entire
document before you apply the hotfix to your product. For reference,
you should save this readme to your hard drive or print a copy.
Issue Resolved by This Hotfix
This hotfix corrects the following issues:
- Exporting polygons to the SHP format using the MAPEXPORT command does not enforce an outer clockwise orientation, which is preferred by the SHP format.
- Exporting multi-polygons to the SHP format using the MAPEXPORT command results in multiple single polygons.
- Importing polygons with arcs using the MAPIMPORT command creates incorrect geometry in certain cases.

Installation
Instructions
To install the
SHP Import Export Hotfix
NOTE: You must have administrative privileges on
your Microsoft® Windows® operating system to complete the
installation process.

Download
and extract the Hotfix files to a folder on your local drive.
- Navigate to
the program files folder (for example, C:\Program
Files\AutoCAD Map 3D 2009) and locate the AcMapImpExp.arx file.
- Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\GIS\ImportExport\7.0\loader and locate the ieapi.dll file.
- Click
the Version tab and confirm the file version.
- If
the files are version 12.0.61.0, then proceed with this
installation.
- If
the files are version 12.0.61.5 or higher, then this hotfix has
already been applied.

In
the product installation folder, right-click AcMapImpExp.arx file and rename it AcMapImpExp.bak.
- In the loader folder, right-click ieapi.dll and rename it ieapi.bak
- Navigate
to the folder where you extracted the Hotfix files.
- Copy AcMapImpExp.arx to your product installation folder.
- Copy ieapi.dll to the loader folder.
- Right-click
the new files and select Properties. Click the Version tab and
confirm that the files are version 12.0.61.5.
To remove the SHP Import Export Hotfix

Delete the new
AcMapImpExp.arx file that
you copied to the product installation folder.

Delete the new ieapi.dll file that
you copied to the loader folder.
- In
the product installation folder, right-click AcMapImpExp.bak and rename it AcMapImpExp.arx.
- Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\GIS\ImportExport\7.0\loader. Right-click ieapi.bak and rename it ieapi.dll
