Player Menu

Reference Colour button
Opens the colour picker.
Player Menu tabs
Click to display menus for the Clip & Setup, AudioDesk, Timeline, or Deliverables options.
Player Menu tabs
Click to display menus for the vectorscope, the Audio Desk, or clip viewing options.
Player Menu tabs
Click to display menus for the clip setup, the EQ Desk, the auxiliary effects or the Deliverables options.
Use Ratio button
Enable to use aspect ratio in the Player.
Play From Positioner button
Enable to replay from the positioner.
Preview box
Select to view the source of the focus layer, preview all timelineFX for the current frame, or play in real time.
Replay Mode box
Select video (V) or black (B) for the outgoing, current, and incoming shots, respectively.
Play Mode box
Select to play the focus track, the selected timeline elements, using in and out points, or using preroll and postroll values from the positioner (Centred).
Playback Mode box
Select to play the clip once, in a continuous loop, or forward and backward.
Playback Resolution box
Select to play at full resolution or using proxies.
Scan Mode box
Select to set the scan mode for a clip displayed at a size other than its actual size.
Clip Name field
Displays the name of the current clip in the Player. Click to modify or enter a new name.

Triptych Player options

Player box
Select to display the regular, Triptych, or Fullscreen Player.
Triptych View Mode box
Select the control and default display of each focus point.
VectorScope button
Enable to display the vectorscope.

Playback controls

Clip Information box
Select to display frame numbers or timecodes for the current frame and duration.
Playback Mode box
Select to play the clip once, in a continuous loop, or forward and backward.
Playback Resolution box
Select to play at full resolution or using proxies.
Playback Resolution box
Select to play at full resolution or with a Deliverable.
Play Audio Slip field
Drag left or right, or enter a value to slip the audio relative to the video.
Current Frame field
Displays the current frame number. Drag left or right, or enter a value to go to another frame.
Current Timecode field
Displays the current timecode. Drag left or right, or enter a value to go to another timecode.
Timebar
Represents the position of the current frame within the clip using the yellow positioner. Drag the positioner to scrub the clip.
Duration field
Displays the duration of the clip in frames or timecode. Click to switch between Clip Information modes.
First Frame button
Click to go to the first frame of the clip.
Previous Cue Mark button
Click to go to the previous cue mark.
In Point button
Click to go to the In point.
Previous Keyframe button
Click to go to the previous keyframe.
Play Backward button
Click to play the clip backwards.
Stop button
Click to stop the playback.
Play button
Click to play the clip forward.
Next Keyframe button
Click to go to the next keyframe.
Out Point button
Click to go to the Out point.
Next Cue Mark button
Click to go to the next cue mark.
Last Frame button
Click to go to the last frame of the clip.
Frame field
Displays the current frame number of the focus clip in the Source Area (field is green) or Record Area (field is red). Drag left or right, or enter a value to display another frame in the clip.
Play Speed field
Displays the current playback speed.
Output Audio Rate field
Displays the output audio rate as set in the Output Clock box of the Audio Preferences.
Go To button
To go to the in or out point, click Go To and then In or Out.
Clear button
To clear the in or out point or current cue mark, click Clear and then In, Out, or Cue Mark.
Clear All button
To clear all, click Clear All and then In, Out, or Cue Mark.
Speed button
Ctrl-click to enable setting the playback speed of the clip. Ctrl-click again to disable.
+/-
Changes the playback direction.
Rate field
Drag left or right, or enter the percentage at which to playback the clip.
In button
Enable to set an in point at the positioner frame or timecode. Ctrl-click to disable.
In LED
Ctrl-click to constrain/unconstrain the in point when changing the out point or duration.
In timecode field
Displays the in point timecode. Drag left or right, or enter another timecode.
In frame field
Displays the in point frame number. Drag left or right, or enter another frame number.
Out button
Enable to set an out point at the positioner frame or timecode. Ctrl-click to disable.
Out LED
Ctrl-click to constrain/unconstrain the out point when changing the in point or duration.
Out timecode field
Displays the out point timecode. Drag left or right, or enter another timecode.
Out frame field
Displays the out point frame number. Drag left or right, or enter another frame number.
Duration button
Enable to set the duration of the segment. Ctrl-click to disable.
Duration LED
Ctrl-click to constrain/unconstrain the duration when changing the in or out point.
Duration timecode field
Displays the timecode duration between the in and out points. Drag left or right, or enter another timecode duration.
Duration frame field
Displays the frame duration between the in and out points. Drag left or right, or enter another frame duration.
Cue Mark Comment field
Enter a description for the current cue mark.
Cue Mark colour pot
Sets the colour of the current cue mark.
Go To/Clear/Clear All buttons
To go to the in or out point, click Go To and then In or Out. To clear the in or out point or current cue mark, click Clear and then In, Out, or Cue Mark. To clear all, click Clear All and then In, Out, or Cue Mark.
In LED

Displays the frame duration between the in and out points. Drag left or right, or enter another frame duration.
Cue Mark button
Enable to add a cue mark at the current frame, using the colour indicated to the right of the button.
Cue Mark comment
Enter a description for the current cue mark.

Letterbox options

Preview Setup box
Select an active preview option to displays its controls.
Letterbox button
Enable to display the letterbox formatting options and apply them to the clip in the Player.
Letterbox Format box
Select a default format or select Custom to enter a new aspect ratio.
Aspect Ratio
Drag left or right, or enter a value to set a custom aspect ratio.
Letterbox Offset field
Drag left or right, or enter a positive or negative value to set the vertical offset.
Load button
Loads a letterbox format and apply to the current clip.
Save button
Saves the current letterbox format.
Colour box
Sets the letterbox mask colour.

Letterbox File Browser

Load or Delete buttons
Click Load or Delete, then click a letterbox setup in the file browser to load or delete the selected setup, respectively.
File field
Enter the name of the file to save.

Overlay options

Overlays button
Enable to display the safe area overlay options and apply them to the clip in the Player.
Safe Title button
Enable to display an overlay outlining the area where it is safe to put title information.
Safe Action button
Enable to display an overlay outlining the area where it is safe to include action in the scene.
Safe Action/Title Colour box
Set the colour of overlays used to define the safe areas for title and action.
Centre button
Enable to display a crosshair at the centre of the clip.
Centre Colour box
Select the colour of the crosshair in the centre overlay.
Resizing button
Enable to display an overlay outlining the area where it is safe to use Pan or Tilt when cropping.
Resizing Colour box
Set the colour of the overlay used to define the safe area for cropping with Pan or Tilt.
Resizing Mode box
Select an option to define the area used for the resizing overlay.

Timesmear options

Timesmear button
Enable to view a timesmear of the displayed clip. A timesmear is a series of vertical pixel slices taken from each frame of the clip.
Auto button
Enable to render the timesmear automatically as the clip is modified.
Refresh button
Re-renders the timesmear.

Src/Rec Players

Source History box
Select a source clip you have already worked with to display it in the source player.
Clear List button
Deletes the source history list, and displays the name of the current clip.
Prepend dropdown list
Select an option to insert the source clip at the beginning of the record clip.
Append dropdown list
Select an option to insert the source clip at the end of the record clip.
Aligned Edit dropdown list
Select an option to align the source clip with the record audio clip.
Sub-Clip button
Generates a clip based on in and out points on the source or record clip.

View Menu options

Display button
Enable to displays an overlay of the viewport's area of interest.
Use Ratio button
Enable to simulate rectangular pixel display that corresponds to the delivery format.
Frame Display box
Select whether to display the full frame of an image or the doubled lines representing the dominant field.
Viewport Layout box
Select an option to display one to four viewports.
Viewport Update box
Select whether to update other viewports in sync with the current frame or to update all viewports when you release the cursor.
Reset box
Reset all layout settings.
Invert button
Enable to switch the Overlay user interface outlines and text from white to grey.
Widget Display box
Select whether to display widgets such as crop boxes and icons in the current viewport or all viewports.
