Import BVH Action Dialog Box

To display: Select a Biovision (BVH) actor and choose File > Import BVH Action from the Behavior Export toolbar.

File name

The .bvh file for the Biovision motion capture data that you want to import into Softimage.

Import Options

Scale

A scale factor that you want to apply to the mocap data upon importing.

Filter Tag

Filters some of the extraneous nodes in the mocap data. To filter out these nodes, add some unique substring of the names of these nodes in this text box and they will be removed from the actor when it’s imported.

To specify multiple Filter values, use a semicolon (;) to separate the values (such as LeftHand;RightHand)

Subtree

Removes a whole branch of the actor’s hierarchy when it’s imported. You can enter the full name of the branch’s root node (for example, hands) to delete it.

To specify multiple Subtree values, use a semicolon (;) to separate the values (such as LeftHand;RightHand)

Keep Subtree Root

Keeps the root of the subtree that you want to remove. For example, you may want to keep the palm of a hand but get rid of the fingers.

Action Options

Action Name

The name of the action source for the mocap data when is imported into Softimage.

Remove Local Pos Data

Removes local position data for nodes from the resulting action source, except for the GlobalSRT and COG nodes.

When you click OK, the mocap data is imported into Softimage as an action source with the name you specified. You can find this action source under the Biovision actor’s Mixer node.
