Can’t Launch the HTML Help from the SDK Explorer

When running Softimage as a client installation on Windows, links to the SDK HTML Help from within the SDK Explorer window do not work and error messages are displayed.

The solution is to add the path to the documentation as a trusted site in the Internet Explorer’s security options.

1. Start Internet Explorer, go to the Tools > Internet Options... menu and click the Security tab. Select the Trusted sites zone and click the Sites button.

2. Add the path to the documentation to the list of trusted sites.
Enter \\<Remote_Install_Path>\Softimage_7.5\Doc\ and click the Add button.

To specify a UNC path, turn off the option that requires “server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone”.

3. Restart your computer to ensure that all registry modifications have taken effect.

4. You can now open the documentation from within the SDK Explorer. You should no longer get any error messages.
