The Parameter Connection Editor

Where you can create and edit linked parameters for the currently selected element. When you link parameters, you create a relationship between them in which one parameter depends on the animation state of another parameter.

The Driving Source explorer. These are the parameters whose values will control the linked parameters.

The Driven Target explorer. These are the parameters whose values will be controlled by the driving parameter.

Click the Link button to create the link between the parameters you have selected in the Driving Source and Driven Target explorers.

After you set the driving and linked parameters’ values as you want them to be relative to each other, click the Set Relative Values button. Repeat this for each relative state you want to set.

The Link List gives options for the types of links you can create.

Click the Edit button to open the expression editor in which you can edit the linked parameter expression.

The Definition text box displays the expression for the type of parameter link you have created.

To display the parameter connection editor

• Do one of the following to open the parameter connection editor:

- Choose View > Animation > Parameter Connection Editor from the main menu.

You can also first select an object whose parameters you want to be linked to (driven by) another parameter and then open this editor.

or

- In a property editor or explorer, right-click the animation icon of the parameter you want driven by another and choose Link With or Link with Multi.

or

- Choose Link With or Parameter Connection Editor from the Animation menu on the Animation panel.

or

- Select the object or mark one or more parameters you want driven by another and choose Link with or Link with Multi from the Animation menu on the Animation panel.
