Clip relations are a type of time constraint between two clips so that when you move one clip, the other clip follows proportionately. For example, you may want to create a relation between an audio clip to a shape clip for a lip-synching animation so that when you move one clip along the track, the other clip also moves, maintaining their offset.
For more information, see Linking Clips Together (Relations) [ Nonlinear Animation ].
To apply: Select two clips of any type in the animation mixer and choose Effect > Create Relation from the mixer’s command bar. The first clip you select is the master clip.
To redisplay: Right-click a clip with relations and choose Clip Relation.

Start Activeness |
Toggles the activeness of the start offset. |
|
Start Offset |
Number of frames of offset between the two clips linked with relations. |
Clip In Relation
|
Clip In Activeness |
Toggles the activeness of the Clip In offset. |
|
Clip In Offset |
Master clip’s Clip In value as defined in its Time Control Property Editor. Changing this value also changes the slave clip’s Clip In value. |
Clip Out Relation
|
Clip Out Activeness |
Toggles the activeness of the Clip Out offset. |
|
Clip Out Offset |
Master clip’s Clip Out value as defined in its Time Control Property Editor. Changing this value also changes the slave clip’s Clip Out value. |
|
Swap Master and Slave Clip |
Inverts the relationship between clips so that the master becomes the slave and vice versa. |
