Loader SI3D Options Property Editor
Controls how SOFTIMAGE 3D scenes and models are imported. When importing, keep in mind that in Softimage the concept of models and namespaces replaces the method of using prefixes to organize scene elements.
Refer to the SOFTIMAGE|3D Conversion Table [Data Management] for a summary of what Softimage currently imports from SOFTIMAGE|3D.
To display: In the explorer, set the scope to Application. Expand the Data node, then click the Loader SI3D Options node.
|
Remove underscore from prefix |
Removes any underscores (and dots) in the name of the imported scene (including scene prefix). This name is used in the namespace of all objects and object hierarchies imported under the model (if Load SI3D scene in a model option is On). When Remove underscore from prefix option is off, scene name is used as is. [Default: Off] |
|
Put object with prefix different than project in model |
When on, imports any object or object hierarchy as an Softimage model if its prefix does not match the scene name. The model name is based on the prefix and name of the root object in the hierarchy with an HRC_ appended to the name. Objects or object hierarchies whose prefix match the scene name are not imported as Softimage models. They are imported directly under the Scene_Root (if Load SI3D scene in a model option is Off) or under the model that contains the SI3D scene (if Load SI3D scene in a model option is On). [Default: On] This option and the Load SI3D scene in a model option must be activated to properly import SOFTIMAGE|3D schematic data. |
|
Load SI3D scene in a model |
When on, the SI3D scene is imported as a model under the Scene_Root. The name of this model is the name of the imported scene and all scene objects are contained in this model (cameras, lights, objects, groups, etc.) When off, objects and object hierarchies are imported directly under the Scene_Root. [Default: On] This option and the Put object with prefix different than project in model option must be activated to properly import SOFTIMAGE|3D schematic data. |
|
Process Visibility Animation |
Mimics SI3D Branch visibility animation without actually assigning the property in Branch (all properties are assigned in Node). The node that has the Branch visibility animation will keep its animation (fcurve or expression) mapped on the View and Render visibility components. Branch visibility animation will be propagated to any children nodes. A link exists between their View and Render visibility components and the parent node that has the branch visibility animation so that you can edit the animation of the parent node and its children will follow the same behavior. [Default: Off] Branch visibility animation is propagated such that where C is a child of B, which is a child of A: - If both A and B have a branch visibility animation, then the propagation of A will stop at B, and C will inherit the animation of B. - If A has a branch visibility animation and B has a node animation, then the propagation of A will skip over B, and C will inherit the animation of A. |
|
Update Play Control |
When on, updates play control options (Frame In, Frame Out, Frame Rate, etc.) with the values from the SI3D scene. When off, the scene uses the values of the play control options as currently set in Softimage and are not updated with the values imported with the SI3D scene. [Default: On] To display Play Control options, choose Playback > Playback Options from the Playback control panel. You can also access these options from the explorer, set the scope to Project, expand the Data node, then click on the Play Control node. |
|
Preserve Modified Normals in UserNormal Cluster |
Imports user-defined normals as a UserNormal user data map. |
|
Legacy Basepose Import |
Controls how the base poses of enveloped hierarchies are imported: • When this option is off, base poses are imported using an improved algorithm. The result is compliant with SOFTIMAGE|3D if you intend to re-export using the dotXSI format. • When this option is on, base poses are imported using the previous algorithm. You should activate this option if base poses are not imported correctly. |
|
Convert to Shade Tree |
Converts SOFTIMAGE|3D materials to the best approximation using sets of connected shaders in the Softimage render tree. If this option is off, the SOFTIMAGE|3D legacy shaders are used instead. |
