2D Gradient Shader (Legacy)

| Render Tree Usage

Shader Type: Texture Generator (Tool)

Output: Scalar value

Takes a scalar value and performs an interpolation of a color map. Use it with the Color Interpolate shader to create a colored gradient.

Name

The shader’s name. Enter any name you like, or leave the default.

Input

The scalar input used to compute an intensity level

Gradient Mode

Linear: Creates a standard linear gradient that starts from one edge of the texture projection object and gradiates to the other.

Radial Wave: Creates a gradient that begins at the center of the texture projection and gradiates outward, in a bull’s-eye pattern.

Radial Rainbow: Creates a rainbow-like gradient that originates at the center of the texture projection, except this mode uses a linear, symetrical pattern.

X, Y Offset

Offsets or shifts the gradient in either X and/or Y directions.

Render Tree Usage

Use this shader to drive a parameter with a texture effect anywhere in a render tree. This shader generates a texture that can be used as a color, a weight value in a mixer shader, or to drive any Surface shader parameter.
